The hotel I believe is the best...
The hotel I believe is the best in the area but Water front city isn't any city, it's mostly a ghost town, a dead area with nothing to see or do. There is no beach. A dusty piece of land next to the hotel kicks up a lot of white dust all over.
Rooms were clean and the upgrade we got to a higher executive suite was good, the king size bed was too hard and so were the pillows. There were two split type air conditioners in the room but one wasn't working, we didn't really bother as one was enough. The size of the room was good, bathroom was clean but need an upgrade, it showed its age, the bath tub was chipped.
The Thai and Japanese restaurants were average, but pricy, I'd say it would be cheaper in Singapore. The cafe food is average as well. The staff is very friendly and was very attentive and always with a smile.
We used the sap twice, it's good but we've been to better spas. Prices aren't that cheap but the masseuse were good, but they need more experience in certain areas, such as manicures, pedicures and facials.
If you want a cheaper spa, don't go to Batam, go elsewhere.
The billing has a an issue as well, everything is billed in Rupiah, so the SGD rates are converted to the local currency at a rate which is against you.
