Looking Tired

The hotel in its hey day would have been very luxurious, but is now in need of some rejuvenation work. The hotel is very spread out, so lacks intimacy. As the grounds of the hotel is so large, you cannot walk out of the hotel and explore the island, the only way to get to the town is by hotel taxi which was S$80 - a rip off. Also, because of being 'trapped' at the hotel, there is no option but to eat at the hotel. The restaurants varied in quality, but I can recommend the Mediterranean and the beachfront restaurant. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

From the minute we landed at the ferry terminal to leaving we had nothing but the most attentive efficient and polite service from every member of staff. Ok - the rooms are in need to an upgrade but it was spotless and everything worked as it should.
The food in the restaurants was excellent -we ate at the Mosaic and Orzo restaurants during our stay. Although drinks and snacks are a bit pricey we knew that before we went (having done our homework before we left). In all, I could not recommend this hotel highly enough.

Expensive.Boring.

The buffet which is inclusive (otherwise its 23sgd) is ridiculous..not much of a selection and its cheap food. The jap restaurant miyako was not bad especially the teppanyakki but it better be since it cost over sgd200..e italian restaurant (think its called orzo) give it a miss unless u r there for the tiramisu...the panna cotta is the worst I have ever tried! And the food is mediocre.
Considering its not singapore and not exactly bali..the transport (cab fare) is sky high..it cost SGD60 to go to tanjung pinang and SGD 20 to go to the nearby oleh oleh market. Even the hotel shuttle service cost SGD6.. Not worth the money and for that kind of price they charge for an indo hotel they ought to provide free transport to a few places!!
The rooms are newly renovated, that why I booked it. The website says "marble bathroom" only the dressing table was marble and it doesn't look like real marble to me.. The marble on the floor was thin looking... The walls are hollow and it was noisy in the room(made worse by the fact that we are just by the lift)..people walking by the corridor, the trolleys..their conversations. And from the balcony side...people working the gardens below (we were on the 5th flr, there are only 6 floors ) and on the 2nd morning, we were first woken up by the housekeeping and then the staff who wanted to take the minibar stock despite the DND sign. The rooms are pretty clean I must say except for one of the days where we had a stained bedsheet.
The balcony was too small ( n we are asian size) and too many mosquitoes!!
Weather was rainy for 2 days so we stayed in the room..and the tv reception was bad..it died on us on the last day..but thank goodness we managed to play a game of golf on one of the better days..breathtaking course..very nicely kept..we played on the JN course.. Staff in the hotel are generally nice and helpful incl those on the course except for the one who greeted us at the check-in reception..sour face and all..

relatively not bad

Overall still not too bad.. service staff are polite, always greeted us with smile.. disappointing part is that, i thought we got the room directly facing the sea.. but the sea is like quite a distance away.. the room was quite spacious, but however the lights are not working.. only the lamp n the toilet's light are working.. but it was good enuff, thats why we didnt call for service.
a point to make : maybe can do more clearer signages... the map itself is not so good.. esp for those who visit bintan lagoon for the first time, probably be lost, as in where to go etc..
but nevertheless, keep up the good work.

not value for money

the room was nothing like the image on the site. our 1st night we din at the Japaneses restaurant it was over expansive and its in Singapore dollars - food was so average 2 bottle of average sake and 3 types of sushi rolls and tufu cost us S$320!! The restaurant by the beach was no better service was below average our steak came over cook even when we ask for raw thought it would turn up mid raw but its still over cook. The only decent place to eat is the pool side cafe. 3 nights 2 days our F&B came to SS$1500 its not value for money. Dont mind the price if they could provide service we get in Singapore and the quality of food we get in Singapore. How can the hotel charge in Singapore Dollars but has nothing of Singapore standard. Shameful.

Nice Hotel but prohibit outside transportation

The hotel is nice, but the hotel prohibiting all other outside transportation to get inside hotel area, so you can only use the hotel shuttle bus or car rent service however is expensive and unreasonable! people who want to travel outside like plaza ole ole or other area should be reminded!!!!! check in time too long! only two staff handle check-in process but there were over 20 customers need services.

Excelllent Golf but terrible food

The good - excellent golf course at reasonable pricing - world class. Staff makes you feel warm and welcome.. The bad - Food quality/vaule is completely out of whack. Dinner buffet is $91 for 2. This is ok if it is good food... But it makes our hawker center quailty looks heavenly. When we arrived, we saw a couple brought a loft of bread.. we wonder then, but we understand now. In short.. good to stay. and golf. but bring your bread and cup noodles, may improve your holiday experience, especially if you are not a "rich or famous"... haha.

Everything are priced in SG$. Not a great place to shop and dine except for enjoying the spa, sun, sand and sea.
