One of my worst stays anywhere to date...
terrible food, bad service, nothing to do, dirty, gloomy room....nothing good to say.
stay at Comfort Tanjung Pinang is wastage of money
If I need to certify this hotel I won't even give a Single Star to this hotel, room condition was pathetic. Intercom phone was not working, in bathroom soap was missing, water leaking from AirCon, it was very hard to communicate with hotel staff, almost for everything you need to contact hotel staff or room service, and they don't understand a bit of english and neither you get an action on your concerns. Food/breakfast was just ok. Hotel is far from any beach, you need to travel 15-20 minutes to get beach.

Dusty room, tap water looks dirty, swimming pool is dirty (milky, oily, looks like it wasn't been Maintenanced). Toilet looks dirty and poor maintenance. Abundant Mosquitos in almost everywhere in the hotel. No package tour services so you'll spend more In finding places to go. Breakfast food is limited not by time limit but amount. If you ask "where're the eggs?" they'll say " finished, no more, tomorrow again". For other services when it's billing time, they are not too shy to ask for tips. In fact they'll tell you how much tip you should give. It's the lousy family trip that we've had so far and promised ourselves not coming back there.

Tanjung Pinang is the capital of the newly formed Riau Island Province (Kepri) of over 3000 islands including busy Batam and larger Bintan.The Royal Palace Hotel is now the Comfort Hotel Km10 from the ferry terminal.A large well set out hotel with well maintained gardens,swimming pool,spa,sauna,gymnasium,bungalows and spacious rooms.Free minibus from ferry and around town.Good late night club Volcano.Reasonable room rates include breakfast.Now for the downside--food and beverage hopeless,beer served with a straw or flat with ice,breakfast no cereals,milk,real juices or fruits,Pepitos large restaurant has shocking meals,weekly outside fish barbecue disgusting with mangy cats jumping onto the tables. The management listened to my concerns and I will return as this part of Bintan is much better than the overpriced manicured sterile Singapore controlled Bintan Resort area behind the security fence. The hotel can arrange a driver and car for an island tour including the secure but dull Bintan Resort area.
