Bintan Agro Resort
The real pictures and the website gallery photos are totally different. There were 2 -3 times electricity black out, poor coordination of counter of bus transportation.

Bintan Agro Beach Resort and Spa
All the services, accommodations and the quality of the resort stay is not value for money. The real pictures and the gallery photos are totally different. Throughout the whole trip, it was only the hotel coach bus driver who gave me the best impression in his service delivered.

It was a great experience, the balcony leads to the beach. Staff were very friendly and helpful, fetches us around the resort on trishaw. Also has DVD player and movie rental at cheap rate. Food was not bad. Could be more clean.

Affordable and Peaceful Resort Getaway
Off the ferry we had pickup arranged by a driver in a 4wd, who proceeded to drive us to the resort as fast as a formula1 driver round corners and over beautiful forest hills and orange soils, one of our party was elderly and the extreme speed made the start of the trip a heart racer. It takes around an hour by car. The best thing about this resort was how quiet it was. We were able to use the pool most times at our leisure with noone else around. Most facilities around the resort were clean except a couple of toilets which needed some attention. The room we had was spacious, on top of a hill overlooking the beautiful ocean. We had a surprise guest to our room few times, harmless cicak (little lizard) but the friendly hotel staff got rid of them really fast. Smiles and hellos from cleaners and staff were always given and made us feel welcome. Mini Bar items,a small shop selling beer, cigarettes, batteries etc and restaurants all worked out very cheap against the NZ dollar. Spa was fantastic value for money, and amazing! Some dishes were great and others were a wee bit spicy. It was beautiful sitting under the lights in a restaurant having a beer watching the boats gently sway in the night. We took the city tour which was very interesting, You could see city side of Bintan and local people. The bus driver took us to the Indonesian KFC! You will be amazed when you find out what come with the chicken instead of the fries! Overall this is a solid 3 star resort, and was a good start to my Indonesian adventure, which at times under the moonlight looked top class!

Not the best place for that important date
It's my first time going over to Bintan. I had been to Bali before and I keep telling myself not to expect much. The place is very far from the ferry terminal. About 1 hour++ journey in a old looking bus. Bumpy ride to the resort. The is no so called 'beach' at the resort. No sound of wave. Even during high tide, the sea water level is up to the knee level when you wade out to the sea. Nothing much to do at the resort as there is not much facility over there. Water activities cost a bomb if compared to other places around the world and they actually charge in Singapore Dollar. The drinks (Bintang beer in this case) is being charged way too much compared to other parts of Indonesia and even as compared to Bali! The room is ok. Clean, spacious and comfortable. However, the tv is sad. Should be replaced with at least an 14 inch LCD tv. Blanket not thick enough so at the middle of the night when it starts to get colder, have to readjust the air conditioner. It is the quaint calm village lifestyle that manages to compensate the lousy seaside. Quiet and peaceful with not much guests so you actually get a lot of private moments. The Sun Moon restaurant serves the best avocado milk shake I have ever tasted! the price for the food there is quite reasonable. We had oatmeal prawn, chicken satay, seafood sapo tofu, ayam kaget, two bowls of white rice, one happy soda and an avocado milk shake and it came up to only SGD47! Can be recommended if you don't mind the lousy, disappointing looking beach. If you are the one seeking for solace of a quiet day, this is the place to be just to get away from the hustle of the city life. No safe deposit to put belongings. Should have hair conditioner in the bathroom too.

Good review despite being a run down place
My wife and I were on a 2D1N stay at Agro Bintan Resort as a result of comparative search in Asiaroom.com. From the pix gallery, you could see how pictureseque the resort was againts the back drop of a blue sea. As we arrived at the entrance, however, our hearts sank as the place really looked run down and in real need of some upgrading. We arrived during a low tide and we could see the beach was strip so bare that a dog ran from end to end! Theres not much the resort could offer but its sea activities and during high tides of course. But to our pleasant surprise, the Superior Room we got were spacious. All the staff were polite and ready to serve you. The food was not bad at all and if you call for room service, dont forget to order their pizza which is a must-try. Another downside is that the resort is among those furthest from the Bintan Telani ferry terminal.

Good room though the air conditioning was stuck on a temp too low for us to sleep comfortably. Staff did everything possible to make our stay pleasant. Not a good place to go if you want to see how the locals live as it is miles from anywhere 'normal' but great for relaxing. Because it is miles from anywhere you are limited to the two onsite restaurants for eating and both are rather pricey. They have a horrid mini zoo with bored animals in plain tiny cages with nothing to do and some with no water. We told them it was horrid but I don't think that will make them change it. We had trouble making ourselves understood at times. We wanted to visit a local market but they kept on wanting to send us to the shopping centre in the main town 45 mins away. We wanted to see Indonesia, not tourist places.

The service is excellent, staff are all polite and friendly all the time, they are attentive. The only thing that I don't like about our room is that the bed is not as comfortable as I expected, no hair dryer also. But if you are looking for a place to relax, this is a good place to go it's quiet.

Chose location and hotel spur of the moment knowing nothing about Bintan Is and was pleasantly surprised. Was definitely an authentic Indonesian hotel/resort. It was certainly not as fancy as many of the nearby hotels but exactly what we were looking for. A perfect kiteboarding location especially learning from the best instructor...Harun. Location was stunning. Staff was very accommodating and pleasant.

Everything is good except that the TV is a bit small. And I don't quite like the design of the bathroom. Sea activities are good.
