We have a car to go around tj.pinang/bintan but we dont have any idea where to go. We ask the hotel and the hotel's staff was very help full when we're looking for somebody to guide us. Thank you guys! Oh ya, the hotel provides free scramble egg/omelet for Asia Room's guests!
Amazing Hotel, Best Value EVER
Never before have i stepped into a hotel and been greeted as though i was a film star or a family member, but that is truely how i felt at the Pelangi Hotel. The staff are ALL (right down to the gardeners) friendly, supportive, gracious, approachable and willing to do just about anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible (they even came with us on a day tour and went shopping with us in the market!) We barely even locked our door here, the hotel environment really is THAT hospitable, safe and accomodating.
Hotel features, free 24 hour rides and pickups to/from anywhere you like within Tanjung Pinang, GREAT pool, beautiful and well maintained gardens, frequent freebies such as fruit, snacks, tea and juice as we were in the pool, in our room, waiting for a lift to somewhere or upon leaving. Great 24 hour restraunt with reasonable prices and a good menu featuring local and foriegn quisine.
Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, modern, hot shower, working air conditioner. everything you need!
A few criticisms, poor hotel location (nothing much around), but free transport makes this irrelavent. a few mosquitos around.
In short, everything ablout this hotel was simply charming, and it is worth a trip to bintan island, JUST to stay here, it really is that good! i cant recommend enough!!

Stay in Pelangi Hotel
The only good thing about this hotel is that it has free wifi and also free transport to the the town area. In terms of great customer service which many had given them thumbs up, I beg to differ. I was making some general enquiries when the receptionist attending to me suddenly just turned away and chatted to her friend who came. In general, not exactly what I had expected. The room is considered clean but decor too outdated. Requested for morning call at 8am but they called only at 8.10am. For first time visit to Tg Pinang, can consider this hotel because of its free transport/shuttle from ferry terminal.
My stay at Pelangi Hotel was excellent...the hotel staff are excellent- friendly, always with a smile and ready to help u in any way they can...
Breakfast buffet choice was limited but acceptable for me..
Recommended to travellers who are not fussy..

Pretty decent and affordable hotel. Good customer service and more importantly free pick-up and drop-off shuttle to any destination within the city (tanjung pinang) area. Haven't got the chance to taste the food in the restaurant, but the price is reasonable and not that expensive.
I believe this hotel is a very good choice for budget travelers, good quality with reasonable price.

Suggestion
Resort Appearence was good, nice built but the rooms was not good,,, staff was very supportive,,,overall except room everytying was good,,,, suggesting to improve the room interior quality and hygine
mingling with the locals/clean and basic/budget
i had emailed them for directions weeks prior to arrival date and again i emailed them the day before arrival to reconfirm the original bookings.
the day I arrived they informed me that they had forgotten my booking and my room was not available and as the hotel was full due to several conferences. they told me they would upgraded my room to deluxe.
On the last the day i checked out at 530am (due to early morning ferry)
they charged me the upgraded rate. Not the rate as quoted on the pre booking
a junior clerk was on the desk and the manager was not on duty till 7am.
the room charge for the total stay was above the quoted amount on the pre booking confirmation. he didnot understand my query re the quote as it was different to the pre agreed amount.stating i had to pay the upgraded amount. i did not choose to up grade. they had double booked!!!
the hotel has a lovely large swimming pool which i used daily for swimming laps
they did not provide any western / continental breakfasts. no milk for the tea or coffee only creamer. no toast only warmed white sliced bread.
there was no kettle or mini fridge in the rooms or facility in room to store cold items. it was the same Asian style menu for breakfast every day. not any selection of western spirits to drink except beers. smoking allowed everywhere even in restaurant
the service was excellent and the transport was excellent as they took me to the different places. ie i didn't need to use local taxi service. i was the only westerner there in the hotel and city!! the staff were all very helpful despite the language . i'd ask for iced water and they'd bring warm water. this may be a cultural thing, drinking warm water as opposed to ice cold water.!!!
the heat and humidity was too much for me and i stayed in my AC room most of the day . the reatuarant wasnot Ac and got very sticky . there were a variety of daily newspapers and an english Singapore newspaper daily also.

The thing that impressed me most were the people who ran teh hotel, they were very warm, friendly and helpful and the kind of service they provided was very sincere expecting nothing in return, it struck me as not very commercialised and wherever I wanted to go, they would send a car round free of charge. If I wanted anything changed it would always be done with a smile, the hotel staff are better trained and more courteous than a five star hotel!
But I recommend booking the deluxe room and not the standard room as the quality of the standard room is pretty low. I booked the standard but upon arrival changed to a deluxe which was not bad, very clean but well, you get what you pay so no complaints there!
The breakfast, however, was quite poor with only a few local dishes but the room services menu was quite good and cheap.

Pelangi experience
We were a group of almost twenty people, adults and families with teenagers and children. The accommodation though not lavish, was clean and adequate. The rooms were reasonably private and the courtyard with a feature pond was a natural gathering place for the group in morning and evening.
Hotel staff were extremely helpful and always attended to our requirements, sometimes somewhat unreasonable, with a cheerful smile.
The reception staff were extremely courteous and clear in their communication regarding costs and arrangements for different trips and locations. This was required for us since our group was too large to be accommodated in the hotel shuttles.
The location of the hotel is a bit far away from the beaches and other activities. This actually gave us an oportunity to drive thru quite a fair bit of Bintan.
Breakfast was good and enjoyable, Other food was also great.
We actually extended one more night and had a massage for the wives in room which they thoroughly enjoyed.
For the amount we spent on three nights stay, the experience was too good. The little pack in doughnut and drink on way back was also a sweet touch.
I will surely like to come back to Pelangi hotel and recommend it to friends.
