Good points: Surprisingly serene in an area like Pecenongan (if you are familiar - the street stalls around Juanda). Upper level lobby and minimalist design exude a sense of zen calmness.
Decent breakfast spread.
Well spaced out seating within lobby lounge.
Minuses: 1) The inadequate lighting in bedroom (too dim, no proper reading lamp). 2) Grossly overpriced broadband connection. 3) No slippers, no shaver plug. For a newly built, surprisingly that it is fitted with outdated showerhead-within-longbath.
4) Strange: Hotel shuts escalator to lobby at night - had to walk up the steep driveway from gate!

exceptional in house design; good restaurant with a wide choice of food in the breakfast; the shanghai restaurant is also recommeneded.
located close to the city center, a good choice.
I stay in this hotel from 18/05/06 to 21/05/06.
Is a very clean and nice hotel to stay in, in fact it is value for money. The service of the staff were excellent and there is always some english speaking staff at the front desk to help me with information and direction. There is also a machine at the lobby that provide information like place of interest etc.
The breakfast was good, there were choices that meet different needs. There are many small eating stall infront of the hotel after 6pm that sell seafood and some hot cooking food. The only problem which I face during my stay here is the traffic jam after 5pm, as the hotel is located near some office area, there was always jam after 5pm. Anyone whom like to stay in this hotel need to avoide the jam must leave the hotel by lastest 4pm(Jarkata time) for your appointment.
The star is its refreshing minimalist chic design. Great personalised service as well. Can improve on variety of choices in food & beverages and also upgrade its in-room mini-fridge. Overall wonderful value and my premier choice in jakarta.
The staff is very friendly, almost a bit familiar. The rooms are modern and clean. The breakfast was fine, especial a lot of fruits, not only pineapple and melon.
Nearby, only 5 minutes to walk, are some good restaurants, steak house, chinese restaurant and two fishrestaurants and of course a lot of warungs.
The staff are very friendly and proactively helpful. I have enjoyed my stay very much. It is a self-contained hotel and there is a wonderful gym and spa place. F&B outlets Shanghai Storm and the coffee place outlet were great! I was greeted by name at the breakfast table and the rooms are modern and clean! Great hotel.
The level of service at the Alila is always fantastic. The staff are exceptionally friendly and in particular the Guest Relations Staff - they are always ready to be of assistance and their english is at a very high standard. I will continue to stay at this hotel on future occasions.
To use the internet is to expensive. They ask 7.50 Dollar/ one hour.
For stamps they ask about 50% for hotel-service-charge. I think, it is exorbitant.
