I have stayed in this hotel many...
I have stayed in this hotel many times, just becos it it is near to the convention center. If not, I would select other better hotels to stay.
The hotel is old and the room's furnishing are outdated. The TV is really small and it is not flat screen. Reception on the TV was quite bad. This time, I had a bad experience with noise pollution. There was a poolsize party and the noise level was terrible. Many guests complained but there was nothing the hotel mgmt could abt it. When the function finally ended, there were a lot of noise from dismantling the facade. The noise went till 1 am. Then the next morning at 6 am, the noise started again as they had to construct a stage for another event that night. Needless to say, a lot of guests could not rest well that night. The management should have thought of the guest's comfort when they rent out the pool for functions that are going to affect the guestswho are staying at the hotel.
I will definitely select another hotel for my next stay, even if I had to brave the traffic conditions to go to the convention center.

The location is very near to JCC...
The location is very near to JCC and they have their own underpass directly connected to JCC which is very convinient however the rating of the hotel should change. I was expecting the hotel would be great, clean toilet, nice room, friendly services as they are carrying 5star rating. But when I stayed in, I felt I was staying in the 3star hotel where in the room; the power point is drop off from the wall, the bath-up tab is not proper install, cann't adjust the showering water power, bedsheet is not clean... And they dont even have a proper lobby area which there should have sofa and table for waiting or if guest dont wish to sit in the cafetaria while doing the meeting or chatting. They only provide a limited long chair that enough for 3 ppl sitting next to the wall. In fact, if this type of quality hotel I called it 5star, then how about the real 5star should be??????
Very dissapointed and will never come to stay in this hotel anymore.

- arrive and they immediately "insist " that I upgrade to more expensive room. Not necessary thx
- requested NON smoking room - "sorry no have must ahve smoking room - OR upgrade..." so got to make a fuss and speak in loud voice to magically find a non smoking room
- 1am a drunk japanese guy enters my room with his card (mistakenly) and only exits after i threaten to beat him with heavy object.
- report this to mgt next day...not all that committed to doing anything about it..
- room service dinner tray remains outside room until next day..no wornder there are cockroaches in the hotel...lazy staff
- staff not all that friendly, better attitude in many other JKT hotels
Will not stay in this hotel again, any request is treated a chore, inexperienced front counter staff, off-hand attitude from monst other staff. Mgt who clearly dont care.
The are living off the regualr business they get from political rallies - where they have high occupancy rates.
DONT BOTHER STAYING THERE..

Nice and Big Hotel but the food was below expectations.
Location was a little inconvenient but overall service was quite good and aside from the food quality, I would not hesitate to recommend it to any of my business associates and friends!
Large hotel in a convenient location near...
Large hotel in a convenient location near major roads. I upgraded to the Executive Floor, and the room was great. Excellent value. Large, clean, with all the right facilities (including free broadband that really worked well). Service was excellent. Restaurants in the main part of the hotel were good, though I did not eat the buffets.
I found out the staff are not...
I found out the staff are not friendly enough, I noticed during breakfast at the Peacock. The rate of having wifi connected was very very expensive. I can easily compare it with hotels in Malaysia, cheaper and faster and unlimited within 24 hours (not limited to 12 hours in 24 hours). Here Rp150,000, so expensive. The rate also so expensive for room like that.
My stay in The Sultan was good....
My stay in The Sultan was good. Strategically located in the city centre and nearby Plaza Semanggi is just 5 mins away by bluebird cab. Trips to other shopping malls are also very convenient. Good place to stay if you have any events held at JCC. Also, Asiarooms has done a tremendous job by making my quick reservations during the busy months before of Java Jazz Festivals. Will definitely stay here again for my future trips to Jakarta and of course with the help of Asiarooms.
