"I did not realise this before, but..."
I did not realise this before, but the hotel is famous for its bar/club downstairs. Jakarta is known for its "girls" on sale, but apparently STIX bar in this hotel is famous for it, which can make it difficult if you just want to have a drink and a chat about things. My only real complaint about the room is that it was freezing cold, even with the air conditioning off in the room. The location is so-so, such that not really anything around to just have a stroll, need a taxi to go anywhere.

"I saw the hotel is 5 stars..."
I saw the hotel is 5 stars in the internet but it looks like 3 to 4. The best part of it is the breakfast. Anything else was ok.

"I travel a lot in asia and..."
I travel a lot in asia and have stayed at some well recommended budget hotels as well as some high-end ones..which makes me qualified to really compare and comment on this hotel. I went to
Jakarta for the 1st time and The Park Lane jakarta had some good reviews on AsiaRoom.com which prompted me to opt for it.I would rate this hotel as completely below average. The Hotel is old and is tired. Staff gives you that plastic smile which you wanna ignore. The guest Sofa in the main hotel lobby were torn from the sides. The hotel spa was one of the worst spas I've ever been to in Asia..Rooms had a very bad smell, bathroom door needed to be pushed very hard in order to open...and to top it all...our 16th floor 'Superior Deluxe' room had a 'perfect view' of a nearby graveyard. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone as there are some other really good choices available in the same budget line.

"Generaly the stay was a comfortable one...."
Generaly the stay was a comfortable one. Though room was upgraded to the premier floor, the staff on the floor were not too friendly. Nevertheless, the overall service at the check-in counter and the cafe
was a generally pleasant one. The room was however felt a little aged especially the cabinets and the wardrobe was rather bare. Otherwise, they were clean most importantly.

"I have been staying at the Park..."
I have been staying at the Park Lane over the last 6 years and it remains one of the best 4 star hotels anywhere where I have travelled. Excellent management and staff, very good sized
rooms and bathrooms, spotlessly clean and excellent restaurants......Stix has the best steaks in Jakarta. A good location given the size and complexity of Jakarta's business districts.Really great value. No one could complain about the Park Lane.

"The Park Lane is the most borderline..."
The Park Lane is the most borderline of the Jakarta 5 star hotels. Having said that, it's ultra competitive rates presently make it excellent value. The hotel is predominantly for cost conscious business travellers. Service
is reasonably efficient and friendly. The rooms could do with a degree of modernisation (such as LCD TVs) and it would be helpful for the broadband to be made wireless and free of charge.

"From the moment my wife and i..."
From the moment my wife and i with our 18month baby walked in, the service for the few days was fantastic. We were upgraded to accomodate our baby, breakfast was superb. Even when we checked out
to go to the airport,a hotel car was organised at a cheaper rate then a taxi. I would highly recommend this hotel, and certainly stay here again. Only concern was internet rates were way way overpriced! Thankyou to all at Park Lane and Asiarooms!
