memorable stay which is worth every dollar
I am speaking from my experience as a tourist, not a business traveller.
stayed at grand kemang between 7-9 feb 11. had lots of good comments of that place.
in terms of location, it is located in the Kemang area, which is in an expatriate area. not that near the CBD though.
staff were very friendly and there is a money changing service at the hotel lobby, which charges very reasonable rates (not a rip off at all)
it is possible to get a cab (use BLUE BIRD at all times) to Blok M where you can then catch the TRANSJAKARTA (which is damn crowded - but very useful to get from downtown to updown and vice versa during the rush hour when the traffic moves like snail)
breakfast was excellent - there is a western and indonesian selection, which suited me well. will definitely come back again and again.

The hotel has seen better days. while lobby and self image is design oriented, the rooms do not keep that promise. some facilities are simply old (such as tv, beds, wallpapers), and the overall impression has nothing to do with modern design. when i checked in the preordered non smoking room was not available, so i had to change the room on the second day. check in procedure took long, almost 20 minutes though i was the only customer at reception (probably because of the non availability of the room i had made a reservation for). summary: fancyness is something else and other adresses in jakarta are more reliable and offer much better service for the same rate.

I have stayed at this hotel many...
I have stayed at this hotel many times. I am always impressed with the service / staff at the hotel. Although the rooms (Superior + Deluxe) are a little dated, they are still very comfortable. I think compared to some of the other hotels in Kemang, the Grand is great value for money.

Location in Kemang is good, unlike many hotels in Jakarta that are isolated from local facilities. You can walk to restaurants and bars in Kemang. The hotel generally has good facilities and is clean. The staff are friendly and helpful and will expedite early check-in. The restaurant is good quality; breakfast is good with a good selection, although the coffee could be improved. The pub on the ground floor is a separate business and you cannot put the bill on your room bill. Overall, good value for the price, given the location.

I stayed for one week at this hotel. It is very well located - close to shopping, bars and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and the complimentary breakfast was of a high standard. Could do with a gym.

Utterly disappointing hotel. Poor value for money,...
Utterly disappointing hotel. Poor value for money, i booked Deluxe Room. Room is small and ceiling is low, feels claustrophobic, carpets very very dirty with stains, feels grubby all over, bad maintenance. Bathroom tiny with hardly room to move around. Requested for change and management doesn't seem to have understanding of customers' needs. Changed me to another room with the exactly same configuration and twin beds instead of 1 king size bed. I was worse off.....Hotel staff is friendly and helpful but unfortunately that is not enough to make me go back. Will advise whomever i know to stay away from staying in this hotel.

really nice hotel in south jkt. rooms...
really nice hotel in south jkt. rooms are clean and quite wide, nice centralized control panel (tv, air conditioning, ALL lights, alarms). bathroom is good. Breakfast is really GOOD and various.
