I arrived late at night after a seaming endless flight, the staff were great, they had trouble finding my reservation, even with the email print out. I recieved a complementory upgrade to a great, clean and quite, large room.
The delay on the room service was close to an hour and of an averge standard.

3 star accomodation disguised as 4 star
Very ordinary accomodation.The booking made through Asiarooms was at first not going to be honoured,but after some reluctance I got the room I booked,but the shower didn't work and the engineer spent 20 minutes trying to fix it and then it still didn't work properly.Then on the 5th day they made me change my room because the one I was in had to be fumigated - surely they could have done this after I had checked out? Also the shower in this room was also faulty as was the air conditioning.
hotel is ok and pretty convenient but bathroom seems a little bit old and not so clean.staff are helpful.overall is ok.

When we arrived to the hotel it was really late at night, and they have no reservation for us register even though when they notice my confirmation paper that i show them they try to fix the problem and gave us a room available and the next day we where move to the room we had booked it. It has a great location in Jakarta and a great value for your money, they are very friendly.

Stayed at Cemara 2 nights. The night i arrived in jakarta they upgaded my room to "delux" if i recall it right. Somehow they didnt have the room i booked which was a class below. They did that without letting me pay more and i ended up in a hotelroom with flatscreen and all. Bed was confortable,only one stain on it. But that happens i guess. The room looked renovated recently though there were minor weaknesses,building-wise. Next day i got a "normal" room,which was actually quite good aswell keeping in mind it only costs 50 dollars. Same little weaknesses,not quite as clean as the ritz but then again you cant expect too much can you? Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Had a nice talk with the security guy and practiced my bahasa indonesia. Location was good, just off jalan jaksa,4min walk. But jalan jaksa might not be everybodys cup of tea.
Other than the minor housekeeping weaknesses it was a good bet. Especially after a long intercontinental flight.
Ps: the hotel has a 24/7 store right opposite to buy some water to not use the overpriced minibar. ( maybe the water was free though,if yes then sorry for the advertizement. Shop had good cookies though) :)
