Well, I had to put that in the title because of the experience I had. But I will start from the beginning:
Check in was not the most pleasant, I had to wait about 25 minutes while both reception personnel were slowly taking care of one customer. But considering the general nature of the Indonesians, I would not blame MP too much. Then came the surprise, although I specifically requested a smoking room, they said they had no such information, and all smoking rooms of my category was booked. After some persuasion, they seemed to have managed to produce a smoking room of my category ... I am not sure how .. lol
Room was excellent (Prada Suit), clean, spacious, well lit, with a large bed, sofas, seats, minibar (Which was kept empty for the customer to fill it with whatever s/he buys). Calling overseas was easy, but came at a cut-throat price. No wifi (Free or Paid) in room which was a downside. Internet was available for 24 hours at a whooping price of 100 K (Approx 11.50 US$).
The worst part came when I wanted to extend my stay by 2 more days. The reception said, I had to pay list price for the extension dates, or will have to rebook though asiarooms. When I visited asiarooms, the hotel was fully booked. So I talked to the manager who agreed to offer me US$ 100 nett ($ 10.00 more than the first 2 nights which were booked though asiarooms).
This is the part I got confused about, the hotel actually punished me 10 $ for staying longer!! I know that they had to pay some commission to asiarooms for the first 2 nights. So my extension at same rate would save them the commission. Yet, they insisted that it is their "policy" that if I want that rate I must go through asiarooms and they could not give any logical explanation.
I asked the manager, you are making a total US$ 560 from me (First 2 nights were 2 rooms X 90$ per night) and you are earning a bad reputation for only 20 of those $$, is it worth it? He replied, sorry sir, hotel policy .... !! Go figure ...
