Beautiful location, average rooms
The good stuff id the front of the hotel has a beautiful pool area which looks straight out onto the ocean, The food is also tasty and clean, made by an Australian chef. The breakfast of fresh frut and toast was fine. However, the rooms themselves are very run down, cold water only in a deluxe room, air con which we were paying an extra 26$ for didnt work the first two nights, eventually they realised it needed cleaning and that was why it was working, which they eventually did after several reminders by us.
To top it off my sister 's room had a toilet that overflowed sewerage, they did upgrade her, but the owner seemed generally indifferent to any problems with the rooms.
I thoght mainski was overpriced, I would be happy to stay there, if the prices were budget, but I have had much nicer for a lot less.

The pool is the only saviour
The pool and social environment is really nice at Mainski. I thought the rooms were overpriced for what you got. My toilet never flushed and the staff never really looked at it, and then it finally overflowed everywhere which was grose. Thankfully they did upgrade me then to an aircon room. The staff were pretty lazy. Comapred to many stories of accomodation of a simialr quality nearby for more like local prces (10-15 US per ight), I think Mainski is a rip off.

Nice and Friendly
This hotel is nice and the staff are friendly. I had a deluxe room with a fan but it clicked very loudly every 30 seconds (i didnt ask for a change) so had to sleep with ear plugs.
The resort is very clean, the food is cheap and tasty and the swimming pool is nice for a quick dip when it gets a bit hot.
Janu was very helpful and you could ask him anything. I would definately recommend this place to friends.
I recommend a trip around the island on a scooter/moped, Mushroom bay and dream beach are both worth seeing.

deluxe????
all in all,it was OK! nothing special in any way what so ever.
calling the room deluxe/superior was a bit of a high statement. very basic but you got a TV and DVD player.
Delux fan was a rusty old pedestal!!!
food very overpriced. especialy when they add on the tax/service charge. beer also expensive.
for the money its ok. dont expect DELUXE or any luxury.
pool was great :)

Accommodation was basic but everything you needed. Staff were so lovely, accommodating, and always remembered your name. Owner Brian was a great host. Food was superb and the best breaky I've had in Bali. Overall, very satisfying.

Only worth it for the WiFi
The accommodation is very similar to the other hotels along the beach but Mainskis has the only free Wifi hot spot. It's not available in the room however so there's nothing to stop you just having a drink there.
The walls in our room were paper thin and we could see the room below through the gaps in the floorboards. Our bathroom light didn't work and the sink was at an angle so all the dirty water collected in one corner! There was also a problem when we checked-in as they refused to honour the Rupiah price we had booked at on Asia Rooms.
The bar is pretty lively at night, the food is generally good but relatively expensive, and you get a free shot every hour.

Felt a little ripped off. It has a great pool but the room was noisy, there was rubbish under the bed - used cotton buds tissues and wrappers. Cold salt water shower, had to ask for soap and toilet paper on arrival. For the price in comparison with other places it would pay to look around before staying at this place...

Although you certainly can't fault the location...
Although you certainly can't fault the location or the service from the friendly staff, I couldn't help but notice, that for what it is and relative to other similar accomodation nearby, it is a bit on the expensive side. Also, even if you book using your credit card, pay with cash, as the card fee imposed is a bit over the top. If you're the kind of person who wants to interact with others a lot on your holiday, then this place is built for you, with its own bar, pool and games facilities, around which people gather in the afternoons and evenings. Perhaps it's these facilities which have led to the above-average pricing, as it certainly wasn't my room itself, which was certainly showing its age. All-in-all, Mainski is good for what it's trying to be. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed.

The Mainski is a 28 room resort...
The Mainski is a 28 room resort at the northern end of the beach, away from the villas on the hill which are very upmarket. The Mainski is simple and honest, with absolute beach front, a small pool, a good bar and dining area, and music videos at night. The flavour is more Australian than Balinese, sort of "surfers meet the village", which reflects the Australian owner and the chef. It is laid back, the staff are very friendly and accommodating, meal prices are good value, and more restaurants extend along the beach in both directions. The breakfast is simple but adequate if you upgrade yourself from the basic included breakfast. WiFi is available at Rp25000 for 200MB, or access can be bought for Rp1000 per minute at the internet room on site. Nusa Lembongan is an island, so everything has to be brought in by boat, so expect some things to be unavailable. There are no cars, and only about 25 small trucks, so the traffic is not nearly as hectic as on the mainland. There are motorbikes and pushbikes for hire, mangrove tours, snorkelling and glass bottom boats, all available along the beachfront. The Perama outrigger is good value for travel there and back (Rp100000 each way), it takes about an hour and is good fun. We have downrated the bathroom because of the cold shower and lack of promised soap. The room was not serviced over three days, so cleanliness is also rated down.
