The Mainski is a 28 room resort...
The Mainski is a 28 room resort at the northern end of the beach, away from the villas on the hill which are very upmarket. The Mainski is simple and honest, with absolute beach front, a small pool, a good bar and dining area, and music videos at night. The flavour is more Australian than Balinese, sort of "surfers meet the village", which reflects the Australian owner and the chef. It is laid back, the staff are very friendly and accommodating, meal prices are good value, and more restaurants extend along the beach in both directions. The breakfast is simple but adequate if you upgrade yourself from the basic included breakfast.
WiFi is available at Rp25000 for 200MB, or access can be bought for Rp1000 per minute at the internet room on site.
Nusa Lembongan is an island, so everything has to be brought in by boat, so expect some things to be unavailable. There are no cars, and only about 25 small trucks, so the traffic is not nearly as hectic as on the mainland. There are motorbikes and pushbikes for hire, mangrove tours, snorkelling and glass bottom boats, all available along the beachfront. The Perama outrigger is good value for travel there and back (Rp100000 each way), it takes about an hour and is good fun.
We have downrated the bathroom because of the cold shower and lack of promised soap. The room was not serviced over three days, so cleanliness is also rated down.

Thanks for your informative review.
Free Wi-Fi is now available in the bar/restaurant areas.
Cold showers are the usual on Lembongan due to the ground water quality that drastically reduces the life of water heaters. Despite this we are soon to fit solar hot water to our Deluxe rooms.
I can’t explain why there was no soap and apologise for this oversight.
We actually have enough stock of soap to last 10 years so I can understand why you didn’t get some.
Had you asked at reception they would have simply handed it to you.
Our rooms are only made up if you put the sign outside your door “PLEASE MAKE UP ROOM”. No sign – No clean!
