Great holiday resort
Fantastic resort, appeared to be family friendly although we were travelling as a couple but there were a large number of families at the resort. Great pool, swim up bar, immaculate gardens and helpful and friendly staff. We stayed in a beach bungalow with a fantastic outdoor bathroom and only a few steps to the beach. Amazing sunsets from the beach with views of volcano in Bali. The beach was clean, we heard a few people say not to go swimming in the ocean as there are rips but we went for a swim in the surf without a problem although the beach is not patrolled. Cocktails at the pool bar great, huge selection for breakfast and the poolside restaurant also had a decent menu although a little more expensive than what you pay in Senggigi. Only a short trip to Senggigi (about $2 in a taxi) where there are fantastic restaurants, some on the beach where you can get dinner for 2 for around $15. We would certainly stay there again. The resort is around a 20 minute drive from the capital Mataram and I would suggest flying there from Bali as it is quicker and cheaper than catching the Ferry.

Great place
This is an excellent place to stay. Great with kids. It's easy to get into Sengigi by taxi and the staff are happy to call one for you. There's not a lot to do around the area but the resort is the perfect place to relax and take it easy.
Only problem to watch for is that if you book a room for two adults and two children under 12 you will all be expected to sleep in one king size bed. We got an extra bed put in the room (which costs extra) and this was okay.

Good location, nice spacious grounds
One of the reasons we returned to Lombok, but time marches on for hotels too, it seems. The open air massage hut overlooking the beach has been enclosed with mirrored glass, to prevent guests being hassled by hawkers,I guess. The buildings are getting older, and look jaded. I sometimes struggled to find something appetising for breakfast, and some of the fruit just wasn't ripe. The coral off the hotel beach has degraded somewhat, and the amount of plastics floating in the sea is very depressing. However, the hotel is still a great option for families and mates.

Nice hotel, with 500000 Rp/night good value for money. Manager from Switzerland very friendly. Stuff very friendly. Breakfast very good, nearly all there you can wish. Owner of car rental is same than hotel owner, cost 500000 Rp for 2 days for Toyota Avanza.

Hants
The resort is very nice, close to the beach; 100 m, nice pool, Room are ok, bathroom are nice but not on the second floor. There was a lot of Hants in the room the firts night, we ask to be relocate on the second floor, it was better, but the bathroom was worst. You must rent a car or a motor bike to go out of the resort.

Best concept
Great location in Mangsit Beach, Lombok. Enjoy for concept of rooms, with semi outdoor in bathroom. Nice swimming pool and view of sea. Great breakfast menu. I have booked with USD but charge in IDR, this hotel use high exchange rate from USD to USD, used 1 USD become IDR 9000. I think IDR 8700 is best value, because I have cheched in webste Bank of Indonesia, the day when I checkout 19.04.2011 the exchange rate is IDR 8650. Thanks

Pleasant surprise
My family and I had previously stayed at the Satosa Villas and were thoroughly impressed there. We were very impressed with the Holiday Villas for a couple of reasons: The beach is quieter and more fun to play on and there are a number of things for the children to do- playroom, pony rides, turle release, etc.

Second visit
This was my second visit to the resort, the last being 4 years ago. There are a lot of good things to say about Holiday Resort Lombok but to mention some points for improvement. The different types of accommodation are not easily understood at time of booking and would suggest web site shows some external and internal pictures of each to avoid confusion and possible disappointment. Food and drink prices are quite high in comparrison to other nearby outlets whose selection and quality can also beat Holiday Resort. The two pool tables are often in use and attract bar sales but the tables have seen their best days and need serious refurbishment or replacement!! The introduction of WiFi is welcomed but would suggest the service could be offered free of charge to residents. Combination safes are a thing of the past and not user friendly for most holidaymakers and should be upgraded. In closing, the resort has strong ties with the Indonesian Blue Bird Group ensuring good quality and reliable taxis are readily available.
