My husband, myself and another couple stayed...
My husband, myself and another couple stayed at the Qunci Villas for four nights in July, 2009. We hated to leave. Everything was as advertized. The rooms were not large, but we had plenty of room. The service was excellent, from check in, in the restaurant, spa, pool area. I think one of the reasons for this is because every employee we talked to said they liked the owner and loved working there. It was just beautiful and we were planning our next trip on our second day there. Take the plane from Singapore or Bali. The boat ride from Bali was rough, but then we are all over 60. A younger person may not mind.

The staff is so just so nice,...
The staff is so just so nice, they remember your name and make you feel privileged. The hotel is well located, the pool is amazing. The food is good, the service is excellent. We were stuned by the price we paid, room rates, food and beverage are very affordable. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quiet and romantic place to stay. We had an ocean view villa, you can see the sunset every afternoon directly from your room's terrace, amazing! Although the hotel is located outside Senggigi, it's very easy to go there, the reception is always here to help you find a transport at best prices. I loved my stay at Qunci Pool villas.

We, a party of 4 adults and...
We, a party of 4 adults and 2 children, spent a week at Qunci Villas in June 09. I think we made a wonderful decision. The resort is about 30 minutes from the airport. Advancing through immigration at Mataram Airport was a breeze. Note to Singaporeans - explain that you hold a Singapore passport. You'll be directed to the non-visa queue. Much quicker. Luggage retrieval not an issue. It was waiting for us when we were done with immigration. A taxi counter, run by Blue Bird taxi, is situated to the right as you exit the doors of the arrival hall. A taxi from this particular desk to the hotel in the Sengiggi/Mangsit area cost us about IDR 83.000. If you are traveling light you can probably get a Blue Bird Taxi to the villa from outside the Airport Compound (approx IDR 55.000). All the drivers will know the hotel. The usual response is, "Oh Quinci Villas." The idea of not having a T.V. appealed to us. It actually helped us to get to a relaxed state faster. Food at this resort will run you about IDR 100.000 per meal per person. Breakfasts are included. We ventured out to the Sengiggi area for meals which cost about IDR 50.000 per person (including beer & desert). Mario's restaurant was our fav spot. Both western and local dishes were well done. The villa will call a taxi for you at no extra charge. Cost for a ride to Sengiggi in a Blue Bird is about IDR 12.000. Similar cost coming back and taxis are plentiful so no need to worry about booking transport back in advance. If you prefer you can get a Bemoh which you must bargain for. The locals pay IDR 2.000 for a ride pretty much anywhere. We sat in one. Party of 6 for IDR 10.000 to Sengiggi. Same area to book day trips around the island and for the more adventurous, you can attempt the Mt Rinjani climb. Back to the hotel. The room with the best view is room 8 so book that room if you get the chance. The ground floor rooms come with a large open air bathroom with a central shower area. Lovely. Only one bit of advice for ground floor roomers. Guests on the upper floor will pass your bedroom window to get to their room and if you forget to lower your curtains when necessary you may be in for a shock! :-)But no biggy really. The pool area is placed right before the beach. Local flavour is added when the hawkers show their wares but they are not intrusive. Lady masseuses ask about IDR 70.000 but this is all subject to friendly bargaining. Whole day trips to the Gilli islands can also be arranged right at the beach. The boats have been beached just 20 metres or so away so you're not far from adventure. The hotel will even provide you with towels for your trip. There are scheduled cultural night events which should not be missed (about US$25 per head) but it is well worth the price. This includes a 4 course meal and the entertainment. Book early for the best seats to this event!! Sitting by the pool and watching the sunset with the majestic Mt Agung, as a back drop, on the neighbouring island of Bali is exhilarating. Equally exciting if you try it early in the morning when no one is around. The hotel is beautifully laid out and the greenery mature so that you truly get a calm atmosphere. Top it off with the superb service rendered by the staff who are all wonderfully trained in the art of hospitality and you've a holiday to remember for years.

great value for money at the right...
great value for money at the right location...we tried the spa for 2 days, each 2 hours for my husband and myself...the lulur scrub was fantastic...so was the aromatherapy massage... the complimentary breakfast was nothing to shout about though....a lil too oily and the variety wasnt great... the villa property compound is very small, but we liked it because it felt more intimate this way...after all, its a boutique villa location, not a mega hotel chain.... overall, i liked the Qunci Villas Lombok. definitely no major complaints here.

Qunci Villas is the only option worth...
Qunci Villas is the only option worth considering when visiting Lombok. Their levels of service, with the sublime attention to detail, puts the larger chain hotels to shame. On arrival into Mangsit airport we took a cab to the hotel, emailing the hotel directly to arrange a pick-up may actually prove to be a slightly cheaper option but the cab was perfectly painless as there is a taxi counter directly outside the arrivals hall. Expect the cab to cost around 90,000 Rupiah (6GBP or abt 8 or 9 US$). First impressions of Qunci when we pulled up outside were as good as those we would leave with a week later. The hotel is beautifully designed by a dutch architect, and whilst they have maximised the number of rooms for the size of the plot it never felt like we were intruded upon by other guests. We stayed in a Ocean View Villa and it had the perfect view of the ocean and Bali's volcano as was described when booking. The sunsets are spectacular; wildly orange, red and purple, it's almost apocalyptic. The room itself was spacious and airy, the bathroom had a wonderful open-air shower and the terrace was an enjoyable extra on which we could wind away the hours. Don't expect cable tv - there isn't any - and frankly i think it would have taken away from the whole air of calm which the hotel conveys. The pool area is excellent, a beautiful 20m infinity pool surrounded by very comfortable loungers overlooks the deserted Mangsit Beach. The only souls who occupy the beach are a few very friendly hawkers who thankfully have a sense of humour about your constant rejections. They offer all kinds of local produce... pearls, sarongs, fruit and jewellery. The few ladies offering hr-long massages are an excellent alternative to the more expensive hotel spa. We enjoyed them thoroughly - expect to pay around 80000 Rupiah. Also on offer by the beach hawkers are tours of the islands many attractions. Once again these are safe alternatives to the hotels more expensive offerings. We chose to use a young guy called Eko to take us on a snorkeling tour of the wonderful Gili Islands. He was great. As a former fisherman he was extremely knowledgeable and skilled in finding various species. Swimming with turtles was an obvious highlight. We highly recommend him, he also took us on a tour of the islands artisan villages and the beaches of the south coast which are incredible. (If you wish to find him - he often wears a white t-shirt with orange writing saying Snorkeling, Diving etc and you may see him touting for business around breakfast time on the beach front) Expect to pay between 500000-600000 Rupiah for a private boat trip... or slightly less if you book for more than one day. The food at Qunci was excellent. It's slightly more expensive than some of the restaurants of Sengiggi but the quality was always there. If you do wish to go into Sengiggi for your evening meal then most of the restaurants there offer a pick-up service - the front-desk can arrange for you. We can recommend Asmara and Square. Overall the staff were polite, friendly and never failed to bring a smile to your face. Happy hour and free fruit by the pool in the afternoon also helped! It really is an exceptional destination. The owners of Qunci really must be applauded for its outstanding contribution to Lombok's growing tourist industry.

... a perfect location for a romantic weekend. You get a lot of value for little money! I really liked the ambience in this hotel, perfect bed, spacious room including a lovely balcony, a stunning view to the seaside, the service mentality of the people... The bathroom might not be ideal for ladies who need e.g. hair-dryer ;-))
