bad service
the hotel and room is older style but value for money around 3* howver the food and the service was verry bad. apon arrival the hotel tried to charge me almost double the price i had been quoted online even though i had the booking and price printed with me, the breakfast was average, after ordering lunch after being told what i ordered was unavailable (a local dish) i was given KFC chicken, I also asked for advice on local restaurant I was directed to KFC even though I found a good local seafood place across the road and to finish off they were unable to book me a taxi with 3hrs notice even though the hotel was on a busy intersection.

1) Confusion on the arrangment. Actually, i didnt book for dinner, and due to the group booking, (actually, i have 9 rooms had been booked thro Asiarooms). Therefore, hotel gave us FOC dinner on 1st night. But, 1 out of 9, only free for 1 pax, and for 2 nights. Eventually, it was still settled.
2) No twin sharing on our request. Eventually, 7 out of 9 rooms were double beds. (Broken mountain!)
3) Breakfast, quite good!
4) FOC dinner, suit to our Malaysian food!
5) Horrible on Medan traffic.

I think the hotel services and facilities were ok.The hotel provides shuttle service to major shopping complexes and so it was quite convenient for me and my husband. Medan Fair (shopping mall) is just around the corner (about 1km).Breakfast also offers a variety of food. Staff were pleasant and polite. However, when it comes to looking for taxi ... we just cannot avoid not to take the hotel staff's 'choice' of cab!! But on the whole, I would return to Best Western when I am in Medan. Thank you Asia Rooms.

This hotel is essentially sound given that tourism is in its infancy in Medan.Hotel staff with a couple of exceptions need to improve their English to enable better communication with foreign tourists.Location slightly too far north for a tourist.Breakfast is solid.Would stay there again if visiting Medan again.

Usage of pool for ladies not recommended since staff hide behind curtains to take photos with mobile phones.
Breakfast buffet below average. No automatic refill, very slow service and even though there is a non-smoking section nobody of the many chain-smokers bothers.
Bed linen are stained and grey.
Internet service unprofessional, desk often not occupied and can only be used on full sections of an hour (once signed on cannot cut off the registry).
Reception head was very helpful and spoke an acceptable English.

Good location. Hotel staff was helpful. The hotel is within walking distance to the Medan Fair plaza where you can find large Carrefour. The stay would have been much nicer if the renovation have been completed. Swimming pool under renovation.

im actually treally dissappointed. the only reason i booked this hotel was for its facillities , swimming pool and fitness centre, when i turned up at the hotel i was informed that it was under refurbishment for a month and they had forgoten to inform asia rooms. i suufer from bad back and after a 25 hour journey not having the pool to swim in i was not impressed. and would have much prefered to have had the option to have booked another hotel.

The hotel is located at a very strategic place but the room rate is on th high side for such a hotel. Not too happy with one of the front office person.

The room is not what we expected as we use to stay in the Hotel in Bangkok. The hotel is kind of old. The housekeeping is not well done when we check in to the room. There's water in the bathtub and we cannot be able to take out the stopper. Anyhow, after we complain to the front desk. They settle the problem for us.Overall, the room size is ok and near to the shopping center.
