in direct competishion with the jw mariott medan, the grand aston knocked out like a candle in the wind.
both hotels are nearly in the same price range.

1st Medan Trip
Overall it has been a very nice experience staying in Grand Aston. Will definitely stay in Grand Aston if I'm back to Medan in the future.

I've a hotel booking by internetin, when I confirmed the booking, I'm choice pay by US$, 2 nights 1 twin room is US$142.-,but when I check-out from Grand Aston City Hall, the hotel staff say only accept Indonesia Ringits and the amount is Rs1,320,600.-,that say the US$1.- exchange rate to Indonesia Ringit is 9,300.-, they also not accept the credit payment by US$, only accept Indonesia Ringit payment, if I pay by Cash in US$ they only accept the bank note is US$100.-, and change for Ringit, the exchange rate will base on they're hotel's rate US$1.- to Rs8,500.-, do you think that fare to customer?

the staff was so friendly,the room was nice the shower was perfect,room dining was bad they serve cold food and coffee,wifi connection was not found in our room,bussiness center not ready yet maybe because the hotel is new.

This is the first time for me to an internet booking so i was not sure if the pictures i saw would actually look the same when i got there. But lo and behold, as soon as i got to the hotel lobby i kept asking myself is this for real? am i paying just $204 dollars for a stay in this classy hotel? i had to make sure coz in our country a hotel like this wouldve probably cost almost $150 per nyt...As we entered the rooms i really felt so happy coz the bed was big, it had a flat screen tv, internet connection was free...the room was just great and the price====totally a bargain. The pool area was okay thou it wasnt deep enough, they had a great gym, their spa was openning soon and their buffet prices were really cheap. thank you Aston hotel for a wonderful stay. The staff was really friendly...Thank you Asia rooms inc for making this possible. I will definitely recommend Aston to everyone and will stay there again next time...as long as the prices are the same...har har har.
Fantastic location middle of city, near food centres. New hotel, hence, new fittings and clean. All staff were super friendly and guest orientated.
However, the pool was a bit small for a 5 star hotel.

Hotel is brand new,room is very comfortable....

Hotel staff is very friendly, polite & helpful. Housekeeping is slow to come, when you request something from them. Breakfast many variety. Food is not to the Asian taste. I prefer if the hotel can cater more Indonesian food. As this is new hotel just open, the management of the hotel should give VIP or privilege card to their guest to encourage them come back again.
