good stay good food
i think this hotel have a good food stall around this hotel and transportation like becak motor and taxi is easy to find, but the morning breakfast is not recommend because lack of variety
a nice oasis in an ugly city
the swiss bell inn was a good spot to endure the stinky city of medan. the rooms were almost clean and well featured. so there was nothing to declare. the staff was very friendly and helped us more or less with the transfer to lovely samosir. it"s easy to find, even if it"s not on a mainstreet. in my opinion it was a lil bit too expensive, but who cares :)

Room okay, breakfast left things to be desired
The hotel is a little away from downtown but not far. The room was clean and comfortable, which is the most important aspect to me. Housekeeping was polite and unintrusive. Front desk couldn't seem to get the room charges right but it got sorted out in the end.
I'd requested a non smoking room but they only had smoking rooms left. But the room didn't reek of smoke, so it wasn't a big problem.
The most disappointing part was the buffet breakfast. Tableware wasn't set, and when food was finished at the buffet it wasn't replenished. I asked for bread for making toast, it took 10 minutes to bring, and then there was no butter and it took another 10 minutes to bring that. The service was just completely inattentive.
Overall not a terrible experience, it's just a typical Indonesian budget hotel, but I was happy to have a clean, comfortable room at a decent price.

The hotel's location is strategic and very easy to find food
Our family of 7 people rent a 2 bedroom superior for 5 days 4 nights. The hotel's location is very strategic in downtown. The Hotel lobby design is very attractive decorated with eye-catching orange sofa. It's very easy to find food at the Hotel restaurant called My Cafe or just walking past the back of the restaurant you will find Selat Panjang street with all kind of Medan famous foods such as Vermicelli Duck, chicken rice, Tong Sim Noodles, Bak Mie Khek, Sate Padang, deep fried frogs, durian pancakes, and various other foods.
Good Value for Money
Good value for money, nice location, Close to Jalan Selat Panjang and Jalan Semarang where you can get excellent non Halal food.

Good value hotel
a risky name !
Calling a hotel "My Dream Hotel" is quite a challenge ! Well, I wouldn't say this Hotel is my "dream hotel" because i've been to places that were out of this world, but for the price it sure does very well.
On the bright side, point number one is that the staff are not "just polite" but fantastically friendly and helpful. Breakfast is yummy and plentiful with good Sumatra coffee. The room is big, the price reasonable, the location convenient and the amenities almot ideal (a little fridge would be nice though). There is a minimart downstairs that's open 24/7, which kind of compensates the lack of fridge.
On the less bright side there was a rather unpleasant mildewy smell in my room (second floor) indicating some unsolved humidity problem. Also, my window was overlooking the reception area so that when I opened the curtains I was in full view of anyone down there and felt like a fish in an aquarium. Had to keep them closed most of the time and felt somewhat claustrophobic in the daytime ! Apparently one third of the rooms face the lobby and it's definitely an architectural mistake, so I don't see what they could do about it at this stage.
Bottom line is, the good points largely cover the inconvenients and when I come back to Medan (what a lovely city) I will definitely book in My Dream Hotel. Who knows, maybe My Dream will come true !

This is a new hotel. Just open November 2010. The condition of room is good, clean, and the deco also nice. Location of the hotel also strategic. Only 10~15 minutes from Polonia Airport. Also near to Pajak Ikan Lama. You can just go there by walking (for shopping). Wifi available at lobby. Wired internet connection also available at room. LCD tv with many channel to choose.

-Food at cafe just nice. But not variety (i mean break fast).
-Air conditioning at room is centralized. Sometimes not cool enough-cannot control.
