Ibis Malioboro hotel's location is very good....
Ibis Malioboro hotel's location is very good. It is just next to the long street of shopping at Malioboro. There are lots of shops selling Batiks at Malioboro. I will recommend this shop called "Mataram Batiks" which is across Malioboro shopping centre, along Malioboro street. They have a good range of nice ladies Batik tops and dresses to chose from.
The local Tourist office recommended one good massage place called "Kakuki" to us. 90 mins of massage cost Rupian 40000 only. You can ask the local Tourist office located along Malioboro street for the direction to get to "Kakuki"
Just across Ibis hotel entrance, you can find a nice Indonesian restaurant called "Legian" on the 2nd level of the row of shophouses.
We went for sunrise at Borobudur. It cost Rupian 320000/per person. They provided 1 torch, 1 cup of tea, 1 muffin and 1 banna fritter as snack. This pricing is quite high going by Indonesian standard of living.
Also, beware of one local worker who is working at the temple. He will go around showing you which are the best spots to take photos. Then asking you for money.Usually, he will target those tourists who are alone. Both myself and my friend have "met" him unfortunately when we wandered off on our own.
We also went for Ramayana Ballet Show at Purawisata (near to Sultan Palace). I will suggest go for the Ballet Show only. The dinner is not impressive. One could have better food at outside Indonesian restaurant. Both dinner + ballet show costs = Rupian 250000/ per person.
