Best location in town for a traveller
Just 5 minutes walk from Jl Marioboro, 20 minutes walk from the Keraton (Sultan's palace) it is th greatest location in town.
Full 5 star service, large swimming pool with a great design.
Special care and kindness of the personnel.
I wanted to go to a chocolate factory Mango in a difficult place ... and the hotel took great care of me.

Middle of the Road
Helpful Staff, Room smelt like the carpet had been wet, The computers in the Business centre old and clunky froze on occasion, internet connection slow, Was issued with welcome drink vouchers that only got you fruit juice, to me a drink is a beer or a scotch.
They were doing renovations on the floor above and all all could hear was BANG THUMP BANG when I was trying to work.. Very nice pool, food mid range, location ok for business.
Having said all that if you are prepared to reject an offered room or can get a renovated room this hotel would be fine to stay in.

Five star hotel with 3 star treatment
Not family-friendly especially when you're traveling with children under 10 years old. I was expecting a five star hotel treatment. The front desk people were not really helpful when giving out information. Breakfast was okay but the staff in the breakfast are a bit rude. If you're planning to bring your children to Jogjakarta, it's better to find other hotels. The real 5 star hotels with actual 5 star treatment.

Incredible experience at Melia Purosani Hotel Yogyakarta, Yogyakarta
Hotel and staff are excellent. Our accommodations came with comp breakfast -- which presented a wide diversity of offerings for both westerners and Indonesians and Asians from other countries. Only nit-pic (and it's minor), no turn-down service. Other than that, staff was very responsive to our needs. Spa was superb and reasonably priced for a 5-star hotel. Discounts given to couples. My partner and I were well taken care of. Hotel is Gay friendly.

Very Good Overall
Very pleased with our stay at this hotel. Room was very spacious. Staff were excellent . The two negatives were 1: The additional cost of broadband in the room,a t approx EUR15 per 24 hours. The speed of this broadband was NOT fast either, and 2: on the day we were leaving they cut off the water in the bathroom. The reason was that they were cleaning the water tank,we were told. Surely mid morning was not the ideal time to do this.

Nothing to shout about
The air conditioning in the rooms was poor. The interior of the hotel is looking quite tired and in need of a major facelift. Free wifi should at least be available in the public areas. We got our wifi in one of the malls and foc too. Otherwise this hotel is acceptable although a little pricey.

Checkin was quick. found staff friendly. During two days there was maintenance on waterpomps. First day no water at all during 10h00-17h00 (including toilet in room not working as well). Second day no warm water available during 10h00-17h00.
Rooms streetside noisy due traffic. If you stay in Melia Purosani ask for a room gardenside. Found breakfast poor. Tasted as food was not fresh but dated. Melia Purosani has a nice garden with swimmingpool and terrace. Terrace closed all days. Poolattendant did not work much but sitting on a seat reading newspaper. If you want to order a meal staff does not come to you but you go to them and ask. Management must motivate staff. Found swimmingpool not very clean.
