Exotic, nice and cozy, highly recommended
The hotel is within some walking distance from the main street. Good thing that its a bit away from busy streets.
You will pass the hotel garden to get you to the rooms. It's simply beautiful, and many things you can do to enjoy the garden. you can go to the swimming pool, reading books in the veranda, or sunbathing beneath the pool. The garden is the stand-out feature of the hotel.
The room is also nice and spacious. It's clean, but the interior is outdated. Hope the hotel can redecorate it's interior (tiles, furniture, faucets). I really wish the hotel has small shower too for the closet.
Although it is a bit modest, the food here is also nice. There are no wide level of selection of breakfast menu, but overall it taste very good.
Overall, this is an excellent hotel, real value for money!

superb hotel
very nice hotel near Pravirotanam where you can find western style restaurants. Room was excellent, service friendly.
Very comfortable stay.
The room we had at Duta Gardens was just charming. It was a slightly older but large with clean bright wood paneling and a terrific tray ceiling with Javanese motif carvings around the top. The room had glass double doors on a shaded veranda which looked out over the very lovely garden and small swimming pool. The room was very clean and large. The bathroom was a bit dated but the tub was white and the water very hot! Duta is on a quiet little alley but just a block away or a 5000 rupiah trishaw ride away, are many other hotels and restaurants and souvenir/craft/batik shops. We planned to stay at Duta at the end of our trip and after the buzz around Malioboro, I wish we could have stayed longer. The breakfast isn't special or luxurious but just fine.Also, if you are looking for a way to meet more Javanese people more authentically, there is an NGO english language school at the end of the alley named Stichting. I spent two hours with two groups of people wanting to learn English. They just asked questions and we talked. They and the two wonderful teachers, Ari and Lisa were terrific and also charming.

Duta Garden Hotel made for a very pleasant stay in Yogyakarta. The reception staff were incredibly helpful and provided excellent assistance in arranging tours to local sights (eg Borobodur), as well as suggestions for nearby restaurants, walking distances, and cyclo costs. All extremely valuable for someone who had just arrived in Indonesia and not quite got his bearings.
My room was immaculately clean and tidy. The hotel itself was also kept in sparkling condition. The pool was especially clean, and provided a welcome relief from the daytime heat.
No complaints from me at all regarding Duta Garden Hotel. Recommended to anyone who would like a comfortable, but not overpriced stay in Yogyakarta.

Excellent hotel. Staff are very friendly and polite and helpful about everything from the price of buah salak to bookshops and places to eat in the vicinity. Appreciated the greenery, the pool and the quietness of the hotel.. It is also convenient to get to the centre of town by the frequent and easy to use Trans Jogja bus service- one can get out to the bus stop by the small lanes without having to go on out onto the busy Jalan Parangtritis.

I personally think that the hotel was very beautiful and affordable. Located at secluded area, quite far
from town.But, the town itself was not that interesting, better soend time at the hotel. For those, who are 1st time to Yogja, pls refer to hotel
staff on the tour organis by the hotel. Nice hotel, beautiful and amazing borobudur BUT Very not friendly Jogja..as compare to AMAZING BALI...

I found this place through Asiarooms.com and read some comments and decided to stay here... It was truly a nice decision I made! The place was awesome....It's really a garden! Friendly people, lots of greeneries, very quiet and cozy place. But please bring 'Off' otherwise you will get a lot of mosquito bites!
Nice swimming pool, artificial waterfalls (looks natural though), birds,etc. U just feel like you are in the middle of the true nature.
I strongly recommend this place...it has only 2 stars but much better than 5 star hotels :)
AC / hot water anytime! and the most important thing....people are very friendly and nice :D
