Nice break
The hotel staff is extremely friendly. Service has no flaws. Off course this I expect from a 5 star hotel. The hotel location is good if you look for a quiet place and great swimming pool. However it is a bit far from everything. Though they have a complimentary shuttle, but only one way and not frequent to Malioboro. So one has to depend on taxis anyway.
The rooms are a bit run down, show signs of aging. Cabinets do not close properly and little details show maintenance is not their strength.
The cycling package to a nearby temple is great. Beautiful nature and a nice tour guide.
Given the fact of a 50% discount package, the room charge is about the same as other high end hotels. So at least it was value for money. But I would never spend the full amount for this hotel in future.

Staff is useless. Adverstise Wifi, but Wifi only in lounge. Bar is overpriced, view of volcan is stunning though.

Service oriented staff but old rooms
The hotels gives a great first impression with a beautiful lobby and friendly, service oriented front desk staff. However, the first impression of the room was not so good since the door's lock was broken and the bath tub had not been cleaned and even had a pile of long hair in it. I was impressed at how friendly the staff are. They genuinely are hard working. However, i would not come back to the hotel due to the ambient music that repeats the same song over and over again till eleven pm. You can hear this music everywhere in the hotel, even your own room, likely because of echoing from marble floors in the hallways next to the rooms. The broken door lock and shower head were not repaired during the week I was there. The bath tub was cleaned at my request.
