Friendly hotel in a prefect surrounding
The hotel was strategically located in the heart of Malioboro street. Right in front of the hotel, a fusion cafe is located providing eclectic ambience and international food. The staff was very friendly and the room is simply artistic!
A great little place
Excellent location, lovely staff and really pretty rooms around a tropical garden courtyard. Highly recommended.
Excellent, friendly hotel
Hotel is very good in a convenient location near the station and Malioboro Road. Staff are friendly and helpful and the guide for the tour I went on was excellent, very knowledgable. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
Very cute room, photos do not lie the decor is unique and attractive. Location is great, smack in the middle of where you would want to be.
Neighborhood a bit ghetto...expected a bit better for the price I paid but overall it was a great hostel for 2 nights.

Speechless!
This is my second time staying at this humble place and I was very impressed at the hospitality of the staff and the fact they remember my name and where I come from! They make you feel that you are one big happy family. I was unwell during this trip, but I was glad I stayed at this place as the rooms and the environment makes me feel so much better and refreshed every morning as I open the door. The people along the Gang II of Jalan Sosro have also got used to seeing me around and they too become so friendly and not at all bugging me or pestering me. Such a pleasant experience to be walking down the lane of Gang II of Jalan Sosro and hearing all the hello and where are you going today from these wonderful people. And, I was glad the staff accommodated to my request for a room that has no gecko/lizards motifs and they gave me a room of dolphins. So pretty!
No TV in room
it would be greater if TV is provided in room.

Simple and neat, with very limited facilities inside the room (only two beds and a shelf). Overall it's clean and good location, that's the good thing about it. However, I would say it's not good value for money. Room standard doesn't match the rate they are charging.
Very good location in Gang II, near...
Very good location in Gang II, near train station. Spacious and nice rooms with a porch faced to the beautiful garden. Friendly and helpful staff. Free coffee/tea and WiFi.
I have one night stay in this...
I have one night stay in this place.Family room is a 2 joining room with 2 bathrooms,small LCD TV,no refrigerator,no closet.Don't expect hotel stlye,it is rather 2 blocks of 2 stories Dorms with trees in the middle.
Pro:Good service for transport and friendly driver -Mr.Tofik.Near the shopping street.Serve cofee in the morning.
Cons:The places in not on the street,you have to drag your luggages another 20-30 meters in to small 2-3 m.width walkway in rather unclean area.Rooms is rather small with weak Air Con.It is OK.for 1 night to depart in the morning.
Two floors of eight rooms all facing...
Two floors of eight rooms all facing a courtyard with pools of fish and tropical palms, Malam 1001 offers a comfortable place to stay with a tranquil environment which seems a long way away from the bustling narrow streets with their streethawkers, food vendors, bacaks and scooters only minutes away.
The rooms range from standard twin to deluxe double with breakfast included, although somewhat limited. The rooms are large as are the beds, each room has a mural on the wall which adds to the ambience along with subdued lighting (no good if you're a bookworm though).
Outside each room, there's a small area with table and chairs looking out onto the courtyard.
The staff are all very friendly, helpful and polite, but beware when paying the bill as they pass on the cost of their advertising on booking websites to the customer, so maybe contact the hotel direct!
All in all, we had an extremely pleasant stay at what is ostensibly an upmarket backpackers, but for those on a tight budget maybe visit their sister hostel no door.
