Ape Rosa Relais was born in a Florentine villa from the late 18th century, entirely restored during the past two years. The restoration has maintained both structure and atmosphere, but also provided the necessary modernization of the facilities. We are situated in proximity of the city centre and are easily reachable by car and public transport. Ape Rosa Relais is the ideal choice for businesspeople in need of a bit of relax after a day's stress, and for tired tourists looking for an easy retreat before and after their peregrinations in and around this masterpiece of a city.

This ancient villa dates back to the late 1700s and was used as a guest house (a 540 square meter guest house!) of the nearby renaissance "Villa Granduchessa".
This last villa was owned by numerous Florentine families and also by a brother of Napoleon and the Grand Duke of Tuscany Leopoldo II, hence the name.
Still today the atmosphere at Ape Rosa is unchanged, and the surrounding green spaces (including our private garden) make our guests feel like being so much away from the city, albeit only at a few minutes distance from its main attractions.
Our 3-storey B&B welcomes its guests in a charming structure, with elegant spacious bedrooms with private bathrooms. All rooms have been furnished with family pieces of furniture and paintings, but very modern and comfortable beds.
The dining room and one of the living rooms upstairs have undergone a restoration that brought back the original frescoes to their splendour. Cut-outs of those frescoes are now the symbols of each room and its keyring, as well as our logo: as children we used to call that "grotesque" figure an "ape rosa" (pink bee).
The "Italian garden" which surrounds the villa is protected by the Ministry of Environment and contains typical Tuscan plants such as irises, magnolias, roses and lemon trees in their earthenware vessels. A laurel hedge separates the garden from the orchard with its herbs, and fruit and olive trees. From the bottom of the garden and some rooms upstairs you can see the Duomo of Florence.. If you let your eyes wander, you can also see Fiesole and the Stibbert museum on a background of rolling green hills. Moreover, just behind us, lie the city hospital, Careggi, and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
Our bedrooms are finely furnished with family furniture and paintings. The beds, though are modern, as well as the air conditioning and the lcd-TVs and internet connecting (LAN + Wi-Fi).
All rooms have their own bathrooms, with shower or bath, and are decorated with hand-painted tiles from Vietri, a city in the South of Italy renowned for its ceramics.
You can sleep in a double, twin, single or triple room; all rooms are on the first and second floor of the villa. Due to its ancient origins, there are no lift facilities. read more
