The hotel is a delicate and snug structure, located in Pontassieve, 16 km from Florence, 25 minutes by train, 20 minutes by car from exit of Highway 1 Firenze-Sud. Pontassieve is a characteristic small town immersed amid the gentle hills that aree typical of the beautiful Tuscan countryside: the fields of grain alternate with vineyards and olive groves, and in the middle hundreds of farm houses are scattered. The countryside used to be densely populated, both during the Roman era and also during the feudal age; still today there are numerous medieval castles and villages located in this part of the Tuscan countryside. It is here that the Modern Hotel, a refined and hospitable setting, is located: the hotel has 120 rooms, all with bath, telephone, satellite TV, minibar, air-conditioning. It also offers its cliente-le an American bar, laundry, congress centre (from 15 to 200 persons), extensive parking and a private garage; fax and telex; coffee-break, refreshments; work lunches and suppers up to 250 persons
