The Grana Barocco Hotel & Spa emerged from the renovation of an old aristocratic palace dating from the 17th century. The restoration was conservative in order to preserve the charm of the old structure of considerable artistic and architectural value, with its wrought iron “goose breast” balconies, supported by intricately carved corbels from the 17th century, the entrance being framed with columns and masks of the period. The restructuring has not only taken account of the ancient construction techniques but also wanted to emphasize the use of environmentally friendly materials, alternative energy sources of low energy consumption. All facilities are served by a photo voltaic system and solar panels are installed on the roof of the building. The windows have double glazing for a perfect insulation. The choice made by the hotel management in adopting this energy policy is to run the hotel by using low environmental impact sources, to avoid harmful waste in the environment and harmful discharges into the atmosphere. read more
