Hotel Description

The Palazzo Carletti Historical House is situated on the main 1st floor of an important building of mediaeval origin that was extended and transformed in the 18th century into the building that we know today.

The Residence, in the heart of the historic centre of Montepulciano, is a stone's throw away from Piazza Grande and overlooks the main street on one side and stunning views over the Chiana Valley, Trasimeno Lake and the mountains around Cortona on the other.

Renovation work on the residence, one of the few examples of 18th century apartments to have a reception hall that is painted and frescoed throughout and rooms with ceiling height of 6 metres or more, aimed at restoring the building to its former glory.

A decision was taken to use only natural materials and the traditional workmanship of those involved in the project in what we hope was a successful attempt to find a balance between past and present.

Palazzo Carletti is a charming and luxurious historical house, which on account of its dimensions (a total of just 5 rooms and suites) does not offer a full range of hotel facilities.

All that has been achieved (comfort, detail, included services and the reception party) has one sole objective: to allow you to experience this splendour in a personal, serene manner without conditioning.



Palazzo Carletti has 3 suites and 2 double rooms (all non-smoking), each with unique features and 17th and 18th century frescoes.

A large, entirely frescoed breakfast room is also at your disposal as are a selection of standard room facilities: air conditioning, satellite TV, complementary TV On Demand, complementary Pay TV, complementary minibar, ice-maker, safe, telephone (with 15 inclusive international minutes per day), internet radio and a tea and espresso maker. All rooms and suite at Palazzo Carletti are on the first floor, the "Nobile" floor. Due to the historical nature of the building, there is no lift/elevator.

All the above facilities are included in your room tariff.

We can book excursions to Val d’Orcia, Cortona, Montalcino e Pienza, with English speaking private chaffeur for half day or full day.

We can organize for you wine tours of local vineyards of Nobile Wine in Montepulciano, with English speaking guide.

We take reservations for Cooking classes at Le Logge del Vignola restaurant in Montepulciano.

Free private car parking at 70 mt from Palazzo Carletti available on request upon availability.
