Tonnara Hotel , Trabia , three star hotel , is in the heart of the small fishing harbour, Trabia – where once the complex tunny-killing rite took place – lying between Palermo and Cefalu’, near Termini Imerese, stands the hotel Tonnara Trabia. The place, enjoying a mild climate throughout the year, is set amid the inebriating scent of orange blossom and medlars, preserves the lovely sixteenth-century castle of the Lanza princes as testimony to its illustrious past, together with the tunny plant of the same date, which carefully restructured and restored, respecting the original architectonic characteristics of the complex by using such materials as tufaceous stone and limestone, nowadays houses the hotel. Objects, tools and equipment, from the bygone tunny activity are gathered in the old premises, in a sort of open-air museum, which hotel guests are free to visit.
