I First started by reserving a Junior Suite with the reservations desk. Upon arrival at the hotel they told me that the original room I reserved was still available, however If wanted they would upgrade me to their best suite at no extra charge. Well that's a no brainer, "of course" I said. We were upgraded to the Suite that is the best one in my opinion in the whole hotel!. We had the suite that has the large balcony with the yellow and white stripe awning, the photos on their web site that show the woman leaning over the balcony over looking St. Marks Square and Cathedral!. It was an amazing room... It is 2 floors, has a huge balcony, 2 washrooms, fantastic amenities and wonderful food... did I mention it includes a nice breakfast in their gracious restaurant. We have also enjoyed breakfast on our balcony if we so choose but we didn't.
The staff were very professional and courteous. The food was very good, not like the stories you read on the internet about how the food in Venice is sub-par... not at this hotel. The front reception were eager to help out in giving any information we needed or made telephone calls when needed.
The only thing a bit strange was upon first arrival at the hotel. We couldn't find the front entrance to the hotel. After a few minutes of looking around we found that the front door is actually around the back past an alley way... which given it's Venice is completely normal. The door man helped us up with our luggage as the first floor entrance to the hotel and the reception desk are on 2 separate floors.
I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the heart of Venice surrounded by all the action. What a great price as well. Truly a bargain given the location and amenities of the hotel. I will be back in the future and will stay at this fine hotel, Promise!.
