I don't call this hotel as a budget hotel, but was the best hotel among my travel in Japan for 2 weeks. It is located a perfect location for travel, sight seeing, dinning etc. If you are looking for a traditional japanese hotel, look for YOKAN and there are many cheaper and more interesting, but otherwise I recommend this hotel highly.
This has to be one of the best hotels we have stayed at. The service was exceptional and you wanted for nothing. The internet was available at the service desk and cost next to nothing. The location couldnt be bettered and the hotel had everything we wanted. We will definately stay again.
Good hotel if a little pricy. Very upscale. However, after two days we left for a Ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) which one simply must stay in if in Kyoto. Complaints? I took the bus in from Kansei airport and then had to drag my luggage over to the other side of the train station building. None of the other reviews mentioned this but be forewarned! It's a hike to get there so take a taxi. The only other complain was that the hotel staff wanted to let us into the room at 3 PM; we had to negotiate to get in by 2 PM.
