Convenient location half-way between Railway and main...
Convenient location half-way between Railway and main Downtown, and very near Metro and tourist bus stop.Adequate size rooms, very good beds and ensuites. Free internet connection and onsen were a good bonus.

The hotel is within walking distance of...
The hotel is within walking distance of the railway station in Kyoto, or only 1 stop with the underground. Hotel room and bathroom is compact, a word that i ususally avoid but in this case it fits the bill. Not too much room but it has everything you need. It has the most hi-tech toilet i've ever seen! Staff friendly and helpful, they will make every effort to understand you and speak english.

The location of the hotel was great...
The location of the hotel was great for getting around Kyoto for sightseeing and shopping. It's one stop from Kyoto station on the subway. The next best thing was the onsen on the top floor which stayed open until 1am. As with most Japanese hotels like this the room was small but clean. The bathroom was average also. I would definitely stay here again if I was visiting Kyoto.

The room was very good for our needs. Lots of hot water, free internet access, very helpful staff. Clean and comfortable. Hotel dining was expensive for what it was. Location not bad - about a block from a metro stop but not the best for dining - you pretty much need to take a metro or bus to get to shopping / dining /sites.

The hotel looked fairly knew. It was bright and shiny. Our room was a really good size. It was a 15 minute walk to shopping and 2 buses to some of the temples but overall, I thought it was one of the nicer ones that we stayed in. A snack bar or light lunch restaurant would be great within the facility. There was always someone on duty at the desk that spoke English. I liked it!

This was our favourite hotel on our Japan trip. We had a lovely 2 night stay here. While it is a bit of a walk from Kyoto station, there is no problem getting a taxi and the 15 minute walk down the street is nice anyway. The room was clean, tidy, big enough for my wife and I and the hotel also has segregated Japanese bath house facilities, which I used twice. Luxury, especially after a day sightseeing and walking the Gion district searching for Geisha! Highly recommended.

I stayed in a semi-double (single occupancy)...
I stayed in a semi-double (single occupancy) which was by far the biggest hotel room I stayed in Japan for around 12500 yen. Reception staff were very polite and helpful and provided city maps with travel directions for sightseeing. Location was pretty good, about 15-20 minutes walk from the railway station or 1 subway stop heading north (Gojo) There was no internet access but directions were given to a public facility less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel next to Gojo subway station. Breakfast was not included so I cannot comment on the restaurant. Normally I don't use the hotel minibar, but prices were so reasonable I had a couple of chilled beers at 290 yen each.
