10 minutes walk from the railway station or 3 minutes to the subway station.
Room was rather small for two persons (compared to other hotels, it was a single room).
Modern hotel, very friendly service, extremely clean and well maintained, helpful staff.
I think it is rather a business hotel, for tourists it is quite expensive.
The hotel was 3 blocks away from Kyoto station, or a stop away using the metro. It was convenient to catch all the sightseeing buses, and the people who worked there were SUPER helpful and nice (they also spoke very reasonable English).
The room was small but not terribly so, and in any case in a city so full of interesting cultural spots you probably won't spend a lot of time indoors.
I will definitely stay there again.
we were well helped at the information desk, and for example we asked where we could eat. The bar at night was very poor, breakfast was oké. most of the staf members didn't speak any engles but they were always triying to find someone to help us out.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel from the 09 Mar 06 for 4 nights. The hotel staff were most courteous, polite and more than willing to help with any of our requests. The room is of average size but your only there to sleep because there is so much to see in Kyoto. There are two major areas for shopping from the hotel at each end of the main intersection (MacDonalds corner)and are within 15 minutes of leisure walking. Eating at little eaters are a MUST, good value and great selection. Train station and subway is also close to the hotel. The bathroom is small and compact (ensuite size) but has everything. TV channels are in Japanese and interesting to watch. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. A big THANK YOU to the staff.
New hotel with an unusual good outer design (at least for Japanese hotels ...). Located within walking distance to the subway station and for good walkers also to Kyoto station (Taxi 640 Yen) and to the Kiyomizudera area. Large, clean and comfortable rooms. The public bath at the 13th floor is great - if you expect (and like) a Japanese style hot bath. All in all a good choice with reasonable prices. Breakfast (1750 Yen) not included - save the money and visit one of the coffee shops. Remarkable (!!!) disadvantage especially for business travellers: There is no LAN oder WLAN access.
