Welcome to the Shimaya Ryokan, located in the Yudanaka Hot Spring Resort Village. Yudanaka is most famous for the local monkey population who have taken a fancy to bathing in hot spring water. Shimaya Ryokan provides a FREE Shuttle Service to Jigokudani. the Monkey Park where you can see monkeys in outdoor hot spring baths.Our ryokan (Tradition Japanese Inn) is centrally located and offers a wide range of options for travelers.
There is something to do in all season in Yudanaka. We are only a short bus ride from Shiga Kogen, one of the biggest ski resorts in all Japan. During the green season, there are plenty of trails in the nearby mountains to hike around, while the autumn colors here are spectacular. read more
