"I found the staff very pleasant and..."
I found the staff very pleasant and helpful. The room was small compared with what I am used to but was very comfortable and clean. The location to station was very handy. If I visit Osaka again I would probably use the hotel again.

"The hotel is ideally located for those..."
The hotel is ideally located for those who wish to do day trips as it is close to both subway and walking distance to Shin-Osaka station. There are also a number of great restaurants nearby.
The staff were friendly. However, they do not sway from the check-in time not even by 30 minutes. The rooms are fit for purpose, a little badly arranged but still comfortable. The breakfast option is good value with some interesting food options. My only criticism is that the lower rooms would be noisy because it is next to the railway line. Not for light sleepers.

"Room (single) was pretty standard Japanese size,..."
Room (single) was pretty standard Japanese size, so most westerners might consider it to be smallish but nice and clean. No LAN access from rooms is a slight minus for business travellers but lobby has
free web access (2 computers) and personal laptops can be used there as well. Good location; easy access to railways from the hotel (3-5 minutes walk), plenty of good restaurants in the area and several cornershops as well. Not to mention hotel's hot bath and sauna were excellent after a long day's work or walk sightseeing!

"Our 11 day stay was very comfortable..."
Our 11 day stay was very comfortable & highly enjoyable. The hotel is one block from a subway stop and a few blocks from the Shin-Osaka train station for accessing the Shinkansen. Tasty breakfast and
staff is highly efficient and courteous. The room was very quiet but smaller than typical US. I highly recommend for its good value.

"Claiton Shin-Osaka Hotel, was a comfortable hotel,..."
Claiton Shin-Osaka Hotel, was a comfortable hotel, with very basic service. the single room I had was tiny, but perfect for a one night stay. It was very clean and quaint. I had a problem
with the hot water in the late morning. Check out is an unreasonable 11:00 am. It is only a five minute taxi ride from the Shin-Osaka train station. It is a walkable distance (about eight blocks)with very light luggage. It is conveniently located 3 blocks from the subway's red line. I was very disappointed in the fact they had no airport shuttle. It is also a good distance away from the cities nightlife center. It is the equivalent of the American Comfort Inn, in my book as far as services are concerned. Good for a low budget, or short stay with immediate access to the train lines. A longer stay you may want to upgrade.
