Great place to stay for sure.
There were few options due to our...
There were few options due to our family size (3 adults and a young child). Most hotels disallowed 4 person occupancy.
The hotel is located approximately 200 meters from Exit 6 of Nippombashi subway, which is connected by underground walk to the Namba JR station. So, it is a great base for exploring West Kansai.
Sleeping on the tatami gave the trip a local feel. The staff even set up a low table for afternoon tea and provided kimono.
That said, it is a very basic accommodation. Our Y21,000 per night did not include breakfast. The furnishings are rather tired, and the bathroom is cramped. The sliding panel is translucent and allowed more streetlight into the room at night than I wanted.
On the bright side, the service was quite good, prompt and friendly. An English speaking lady at the front desk gave us directions on how to get to Nara, gave us information on a river cruise, and showed us a nearby supermarket. We requested for an additional pillow and got one within 5 minutes. Checking in and out was hassle free.
