Decent place to stay
Upon arriving at the hotel, there was a bit of a hiccup; they didn't actually have my reservation on record. Thankfully, as I had the printout of the reservation, within 10 minutes, I had a room.
The room was clean and quiet and typical of most Japanese hotels of this level. The staff are helpful and pleasant and English is spoken. The location is very convenient as it's right over the Nakatsu station on the Midosuji subway line, but also a 10 minute walk to the main area of Umeda where the JR and Hankyu lines are. Also within a short walk is the Chayamachi area of Umeda with plenty of shopping and restaurants.
I have one complaint, actually not limited to this hotel but, as I spend a lot of time in Japan, applies to almost every hotel I stay in: the lack of wi-fi in the rooms. Japanese hotels need to get with the times and in the days of smart phones and tablets, only offering direct-LAN lines to guests is no longer convenient.
