Found the hotel easily as it is...
Found the hotel easily as it is situated less than a minutes walk from nishishinjuku station, or a 15 minute gentle walk from Shinjuku station, most of it on a overground walkaway (towards the police station).
The room was clean and although smaller than european or american hotel rooms, but more than adequate. It had a double bed, small table and chair, bedside table, minibar and tv. All the tv channels are Japanese only, but we didn't go to Japan to watch tv.
The bathroom was compact, but had bath and shower and a toilet complex enough to warrant instructions on the bathroom wall, but as first time travelers to Japan the electronic toilet was just another exciting culture difference.
The hotel is really convenient for Shinjuku and the station. Found the staff friendly and English speaking, although most hotel information in the room, room service menu etc were all in Japanese only.
There is a McDonalds nearby and an am/pm and 7/11. If you haven't been to Japan before the stations and trains have signs and announcements in English, but fast food places, shops etc. Sometimes you might be lucky and a member of staff might speak English, but we did a lot of pointing, which seemed quite acceptable.
We had never been to Japan before and had the impression that the Japanese are very reserved, ni eye contact on trains and so on, but what we found was that on occasions that we were lost in the vastness of Toyko everytime a Tokyoite would approach us as offer help in good English, we met some lovely people who were extraordinarily friendly to a couple of lost foreigners ( I doubt you'd get that in London!)
