Hotel a bit difficult to find, location off from the main road. No wifi in room, only in hotel lobby. The room design is old but is still a good hotel choice for anyone looking for a reasonable price stay in Shinjuku area.

Good price.
This is a good hotel if you want to be in Shinjuku as it is a little bit away from the very busy areas. it is on a quiet road off the main one and is best accessed from shinjuku sanchome, it is a good 20 minute walk from the shinjuku main station so don't stay here if you want to be near there.
There is no wi-fi in the hotel. There is one computer in the lobby with internet but it is often in use. I believe there is a Lan connection but this is useless unless you plan on carrying a laptop with you.
Rooms are small, but then they all are in Tokyo. No English channels on the TV. Furnishings were good quaity and the beds comfy too. Carpet and walls could be cleaned better but overall very comfortable and no curfew either. Bathroom is pokey but has everything you need and endless hot water.
About a 5 minute walk from shinjuku park. Loads of 24 hour convenience stores nearby. In a nice quiet area of shinjuku.
Would definitely stay again as it is an affordable base to explore Tokyo from. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful and spoke good English.
Get a good map to find this place, we got totally lost for about an hour!

Clean, compact and cool
This hotel was exactly what we needed on arrival into Tokyo on a busy, hot night. It was cool and clean, with it's own (tiny) bathroom, kettle and fridge. It was incredibly difficult for us to find at as it's tucked in some back streets but thanks to the kindness of strangers we were able to get there...eventually. So if you visit this hotel, allow time fore getting lost.

Good deal
Hotel Listel was pleasant enough but not exactly the lap of luxury. If you are looking for a cheap base to explore Tokyo from then this is the place for you. I had a basic single which included air con, private bathroom, ample sized bed, internet access, TV and an empty fridge so its acceptable to bring in food from the local shop one minutes walk away. Short distance to Shinjuku Sanchome sub station and a wide variety of restaraunts and shops. The building was a bit dated and there was a mouldy peanut under the bed, dont want to sound too picky though as generally the room was clean. Staff were helpful and friendly with better English than my Japanese. Overall i was pleased and would book again unless i win the lottery between now and then.

All in all completely fine
I stayed in this hotel for 10 days and paid for the cheapest single room about 47 Euros a night. The room is (compared to the average hotel room in Japan) "big" - you can walk around a bit and have a bit of space - and although it's a single room, yout bed rather looks like one for two persons. The bathroom doesn't have a window and is very small, has a bathtub with shower head and is all fine. The toilet is westernish and in general, the whole room with bathroom made me be completely satisfied. The hotel's employees' English is of course not the best but they understand you and can answer you (read: you don't get a feeling of not being understood although they smile and nod. They DO understand for real and help you.) It was just that I was with a friend at the hotel. She booked together with me (two separate single rooms for the same price) and she arrived three days later. For no reason at all, she had to pay less than me (suddenly it was about less than 3000Yen a night although I had to pay about 5600 Yen) but also got a way better room than me. The hotel has two buildings; the older annex building (with older, clean rooms) and the main building with seemingly brand-new, clean rooms. She got one in the main building whereas I got one in the annex building and I felt treated quite unfairly as we had ordered the same and she got off with a way better room for less money. I got no explanation when I asked. Thus, my ratings are a bit worse. But in general I can recommend everyone this hotel who doesn't expect too much and comes from some Western country and is used to have a bit more space. It is payable and clean and also has telephone (costs money if you want to use) and TV in your room. It also offers free internet for people who bring their laptop with them.

Third Stay
In addition to being clean, affordable, close to subway & restaurants, and walking distance to Shinjuku Station - the Hotel Listel is very calm and quiet.

Good location and a good price.
I stayed for 6 nights at the Hotel Listel Shinjuku and then left my luggage there while on an overnight trip to Osaka. I returned and stayed these last 2 nights. The 2nd room was a little roomier than the first room, but both rooms were clean, staff was courteous, friendly, and efficient. This is a Japanese style business/tourist hotel for the budget minded traveler and I would highly recommend it based on price, location, and staff. If you have a lot of luggage you will want to take a cab from Shinjuku station to the hotel, it's only 700 - 800 yen, but its still close to central Shinjuku and not far from the Marunouchi Subway line. It helps if you speak Japanese, but that is really not necessary either. Free high speed internet connection in each room. I highly recommend this hotel if you don't want to spend a lot of $$ in Tokyo for a room. Just remember the rooms are small by western standards.

Excellent Budget Hotel
This was second stay at Hotel Listel. Of course the room is small, but it is clean and very efficiently designed. There is a work desk with two lamps and a power strip with four outlets - so no crawling around looking for plugs; a small closet; a couch, etc. You get a fresh robe every night. On my first stay, I was using Shinjuku Station and I did not mind the walk. On this stay, I had the opportunity to use Shinjuku-san-chome subway station which is very close. This hotel is great value for the money.

The room was clean, neat, and well organized. Of course it was small, but I knew that going in. It was full value for the money and very affordable for Tokyo.
