Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea  

My friend and I spent our last night in Jordan in the Holiday Inn Resort at the Dead Sea and loved it. If you are looking for relaxation and peace, that's the place to be. The room was nice and quite big but a bit dusty, the mini bar was free of charge (soft drinks only) but you had to pay for any refill. The staff was very friendly but most of them (apart from the reception area) didn't speak english but we managed ok with hand gestures :)! There is an adult only pool which is great if you want to get away, like we did, from screaming children; where they sell alcohol. The price of food and drinks, where very reasonable and the selection was very good. The hotel is apparently the only hotel around the dead sea with a sandy beach!! Everything was almost perfect if not for the very expensive gift shop and massage parlour. Don't bother buying anything at the hotel, wait until you get to the duty free at the airport, you get much better deals! The hotel is quite far away from anything else so make sure all you want to do is either swim in the sea or swim in the pools!! It is located about 40 minutes from the airport and a one way transfer will cost you 40 jd! Overall, we did enjoy the hotel and our stay at the Holiday Inn and would definitely go back there again.
