Good American Hotel in Lao
The Best Western in Laos meets the standards of a typical Best western in the US or around the world. The rooms are big and the beds are comfortable.
The only problems I see in this hotel are the pool, and TV/internet service. The hotel belonged to another company before, so the pool is not refurbished like the rest of the building. It was a little grungy, and slippery.
The TV lost some premium channels and they were locked all day and the staff never noticed. Finally , at 4 PM I told them and they called someone to fix it. By 7 PM it was running. Someone should be watching these things, There is an electronics monitoring station behind the reception desk, but nobody has been told to check systems.
On the last day, the internet connection was down. It probably just needed to be reset, but in typical Lao style, they were content to hope for the best and for a tech to come and reset it. I left the hotel at noon and it was still out.
