Its one of the more reasonable hotels in Macau but it is catered absolutely for Chines mass tourism. I would never stay there again.
Lousy for the Mattress but good location!
The mattress is super damn hard! Please change and improve the quality!

It all depends...
There are a host of reasons for one to be holidaying at Macau and if you are looking for a no-frills, clean room coupled with a host of shops/cafes/supermarkets nearby, look no further please. Taipa Square would be a choice befitting the mentioned requirements. In addition, the staff are generally polite and helpful if you play nice.
Do bear in mind that getting to the lobby, which is on the 21st floor, means that you have to make an extra trip before getting to your assigned room. If you are 'fortunate' to have the company of a group of travelers making their collective way up to the lobby, patience is a necessity. If you are a light sleeper, get something to stuff your ears because the chances of hearing noisy slams are above average.

Taipa Square Experience
The hotel definitely looks older than the pictures on the website suggests. I am also surprise that it is actually quite small compare to the other bigger hotels in Macau. It is quite a hassle to go up to the top floor lobby with all your luggages in tow but at least it's less crowded up there. The rooms to me is no frills and they can do with a better TV set. Bed mattress is a little on the firm side. Location of this hotel is subjective as it depends on where you will spend most of your time here. If you were to frequent those casinos near the Venetian, then its fine. Else, it will not make sense to frequently take a cab over to the Macau area, where Sands is. Cab fare isn't exactly cheap either.

A few tips about the stay in this hotel
From the ferry terminal, wait for the complimentary shuttle bus. There is no reception like other major hotels. Just keep a lookout along the drive way for a minibus with name "Golden Dragon" (金龙）. Bus only stops for a short moment and runs with 30min intervals. The bus will first stop at Golden Dragon hotel, then cross the bridge into Taipa island to the hotel.
Hotel is located in a residential area (although it has a casino!). There are a few eateries and convenience shops just around the hotel.
From the hotel turn left to the main road, then turn left to the bus stop. There are several buses to the Macau island attractions. Make sure you grab a free copy of map at the hotel reception to familarise the bus routes.

We stay on the 14th floor which is non smoking area. the room is clean and tidy. All the front desk staff are very friendly and helpful, very approachable, very sincere to provide information. many thanks to all of them. We like this Hotel location because we prefer stay a bit far away(5mins taxi) from all famous Casinos. we have spend good time staying in this Hotel. We have found the tradition good local food for breakfast, steamboat dinner and midnight super nearby this Hotel, shopping in their local supper market.....very enjoy!
