Marvellous Royal
Good location, quiet as it only has a small casino, unlike the rest of the Macau hotels. Room was magnificent, clean, classy and comfortable. Staff was friendly and receptive to requests.

Good enough
Stayed here for two nights after spending 6 nights in hk. The room was of a decent size and it has got the usual 5 star hotel items like table, chairs, LCD tv, bathtub, soft beds, etc. I think this hotel is one of the oldest and smallest 5 star hotel in Macau if you compare it with Venetian or sands, so pricing wise it was reasonable. Paid 700hkd a night.
For those who wanna gamble, this hotel is a 10minutes walk away from Grand Lisboa. To get to Sands you can take the hotel shuttle bus. There is also a twice-a-day shuttle bus trip to Venetian but you'll have to make a reservation for a seat on the bus. Do not have to worry about transportation to all the major hotels though, as there are shuttle buses going everywhere from all the hotels.
Recommended for those that don't wanna spend a bomb on accomodation but don't wan a lousy hotel either.

Enjoyable 5 nights stay at Hotel Royal
Stayed at Hotel Royal from 3 - 8 Nov 2010, enjoyed the stay there, was about 15 mins walk to senado sq and st paul ruins, the food at the hotel is not bad, staffs all are helpful and friendly. will choose to stay there if going back for holiday, bus shuttle service to all major hotels/casinos is every 30 mins but to city of dreams and venetian only 2 trips a day

A local restaurant is just nearby (1min walk) if you'd like to try the Macau-style pork fillet bun. However, the restaurant closed early at 6pm. Other than this, there weren't many dining options at night outside of the hotel. Room is comfortable, hotel shuttle helps alot too.

Maca Porta
A great city to wander and enjoy the Portugese architecture, and the grand and opulent casinos. Recommend Don Alfonso 1890 and Fernando's restaurants.

Competitive rates for a 5 star hotel
The location is kinda out of the way as you'll spend most of your time at venetian/senado square/sands etc. But the hotel provide free shutter bus of 30mins interval via to sands/venetian etc. The minus points is there's no bus back to the hotel at these location. Bus cannot be easily spotted at the ferry terminal as well. The rooms are huge (in my opinion) and it is very clean. Staff are friendly. My advise is to pay in HKD Cash (Better rates- Mine was 5.85) as charging to your credit require additional cost.
