De Garden Butterworth
Friendly reception, helpful staff, spacious architecture, clean, nice and cosy room. I really enjoy my stay here. The food served is OK and relatively cheap.
Located very near to mini market and Chinese food court.
However the main road leading to this hotel is congested with traffic as the road is quite narrow. If you don't have your own transport, it's quite hard to move around. There is a large supermarket (Billion) within walking distance.

Need to improve customer service
Just ok to stay because this us hotel is new, need to improve customer service and facility such as food quality. The morning breakfast is just too bad..,
Good hotel. No tea or coffee making facilities in room which as hotel a bit out from anything else was not good and there was no money changing facelity either. Thanks Peter.
Very Happy
The front desk staff were exceptionally helpful, and made me feel very welcome. The hotel was a little bit out of the main area, but I was only in transit from one train to another, so not a real problem. I re-confirm though - the front desk staff were very nice people, and Very helpful.
Simple but pleasent stay
Beats Sunway Hotel B'worth. My preference in the near future. Hope the standards do not drop after 1 year or 2.
This was a perfect hotel for us...
This was a perfect hotel for us getting from KL to Butterworth on the train at night. It was a problem trying to find a taxi from the station to the hotel, but eventually we did and the hotel was only 2 minuted drive away and also great for access to the port for penang the next day. Hotel was clean, staff friendly. Only problem was chinese menu for dinner and breakfast. This needs to be changed. Friendly and helpful staff though.
I arrived very late in the nite...
I arrived very late in the nite due to the train's long stoppage before KL due to engine trouble. So it was at past one in the wee hrs of the morning that I arrived Butterworth. I am glad that I pre-booked De Garden Hotel because it was such a welcome respite after more than 19 hrs travelling on the KTM train from Singapore. The Hotel was very clean and the room was very cosy and the air conditioning worked beautifully. The bathroom though fell short of basic toiletries like good soap and shampoo but the shower was strong and has good hot water. After a long and tiring journey I had a great shower and a very good sleep. I will definitely stay at Garden again the next time I am in Butterworth.
