Comfortable Stay
I booked the deluxe room with breakfast. The room was clean and has seaview. Deluxe room comes with 32" Sharp LCD TV in room but standard room only comes with CRT tv.
Hotel was within 5-10 mins walk to Komtar/ Prangin Mall. Opposite hotel is a hawker centre - Red House, which serves local food at reasonable prices. Just next to hotel is 2 coffeeshops where you can eat curry mee, penang laksa and char kway teow, etc.
Cititel has own hotel taxi where you can book to send you to places instead of flagging on the streets. I think their charges are quite reasonable, e.g. RM$45 to airport.

Nice room near the top of the hotel. The room was very clean and well finished but quite small. Good location in Penang.

Hotel is located at a very very good location, if not the best. Room is very clean, fuss free check in. Superb value for money. The is 24hr super mart nearby. Lots of coffee shops selling gd food nearby.

Great central location
This hotel was good value! The staff were extremely helpful, the room was clean and nicely decorated, and the location was within walking distance of anywhere in central Georgetown. My only smallish complaint is that the food on offer for the breakfast buffet was the standard Malaysian hotel fair. I felt this hotel was much better value than the one we stayed at in KL. I'd definitely stay here again.

Perfect location
A large 4-star large hotel located walking distance from main attractions of the world heritage Georgetown. Nice and clean, good breakfast and service.

Room smelt musky ....
Cititel is very central in town and accessible to all places of interest and food joints.very convenient for out of town guests.
but the room we had was a disappointment cos it smelll n with the room service adding some fragrant spray,that didnt do the job.Mayb it comes from the bathroom!
Anyway we werent in the room all day.

Good hotel, terrible gym
The "gym" can hardly be called a gym. The ancient-looking treadmill didn't work, and the exercise bike 'works' but the seat can't be adjusted. The hotel literature says the gym is open 7am to 10pm, but when I went at 9pm one evening I was told it closes at 8pm! The next morning I went at 7:50am and they were still cleaning and told me it was 'closed'. Not impressed!
Apart from the lack of a gym, everything else at the hotel was fine - room was clean and spacious. Bathroom was fine. Breakfast buffet was extensive. Good location - a free hop-on-hop-off bus goes right past the hotel.

Great situation in the hug of Georgetown...
Great situation in the hug of Georgetown with easy axcess to nightlife,shopping and eateries. 10min - 15min walk to ferries to check out Butterfield or for a trip over to Langawi. Also the Hop on/Hop off free bus service stop site just over the road is an added and unexpected bonus. Bathroom plumming does require attention as bath water tends to block and takes some time to "go down the Gurgler" so to speak. Staff are most helpfull as with most of malaysia and Hotel supplies a very wide range of breakfasts to suite all appetites and cultures. All in all well worth our stay and worthy of recomendation
