Disappointed with the service provided. I had...
Disappointed with the service provided. I had requested for an additional bed during my booking. When we arrived in the hotel at 4pm, the additional bed had still not been brought to the rooms. I called and was told it will arrive in 15mins time. I told them I would be out by 4.45pm. When I came back at 11pm, the additional bed is still not there. I called the reception and was told that somebody had told the housekeeping that the additional bed is not required. They said they have sent the bed to the wrong room. My mother who in the so called room that they sent the bed to only said she does not need the addtional pillow that was sent there and she did not see any bed. Why can't the housekeeping verify with the reception. Their tone of voice when I complained about the bed was not polite and one of retort.

Never in my traveling life have i...
Never in my traveling life have i encountered a front desk with no smiles but sulky faces. Not one day, but almost everyday during my 3 nights stay. Given this is a 4-star hotel, it fares no better than a 2 or 3 star in customer service. The receptionists are more concerned with sharing their customer woes than serving me the customer. I had to wait patiently till they finished their conversation before being served. It's not value for money cos the room is really old with a mini 14" crt tv. Location is good with free shuttle service to Komtar. Buffet breakfast offers decent variety. To sum up, this is a hotel where customer never comes first.

Unfortunately the Asia rooms booking system does...
Unfortunately the Asia rooms booking system does not have the extra tick to select a single double bed. It was frustrating talking to reception when they insisted that a room and 2 persons mean 1 room and two beds and they have the right to refuse a double bed if not available as it was not booked directly with them. They kept on suggesting that we should use the direct web site rather. After many complaints we moved into a premium room for an extra 30RM the next day with a very nice bed and an LCD TV. Overall not bad and a very good location for clubbing and eating.

It was a pleasant stay. breakfast set up was good no rush or over crowded, good selection of food. Had peaceful night sleep. Within walking distance to bus stop and Komptar.

We selected this hotel for our (g couple) 6 days stay in Penang from the asiarooms website. We think that this hotel stands out in many ways and is yet affordable. The location is perfect for trips out of George Town as well as strolls to several authentic sections nearby. The staff is very friendly. Downside was the massage that we took on the 3rd floor. That appeared to be something different from a proper massage where the Chinese ladies had something else in mind... Overall we were very happy with our choice of hotel.

This hotel is sadly let down by...
This hotel is sadly let down by its room size and facilities in the room, especially in the bathroom. It would be nice just as a place to sleep over, not really ideal for honeymoon or holiday. On the plus side, breakfast has many varieties and the location is perfect.

The location of the hotel is very...
The location of the hotel is very good, all heritage buildings and open air street food is in walking distance. The facility of the hotel is just ok. My room is at the end of the corridor, it is very small and not very clean. There is no internet inside room. There is no swimming pool in hotel. We move to Royal hotel next day due to cititel is fully booked, but then we found Royal hotel is cheaper and better, of course have free internet in room and also swimming pool.
