One major problem I have with the hotel is that we requested a non-smoking floor was was SUPERFICIALLY given one - 16th floor. Mangement do not consider the rights of non-smokers seriously.
On my first day, I found that that was an ash tray and a new packet of Evergreen hotel matches on my room desk!!! How can this be so if it is a non-smoking floor? I complained to the hotel and they immediately sent housekeeping to collect the ashtray and matches.
But everyday I could smell smoke in the corridor and also through the air-conditioning vents. I complained to the hotel several times only to be assured that it was a non-smoking floor, simply because the signs say so!! Thay muust think we are fools to or have no noses.
I believe the hotel management only put a non-smoking signs in the lifts and corridors to make us non-smoking guests believe that we are in a non-smoking area when effectively we are not. It is a false perception they are creating as they do not mean it!! They allow others guests to smoke as and where they like and do nothing about the rights of non-smokers.
The first morning, I asked for a non-smoking table for breakfast, only to be offered a table right next to the smoking area!! When I questioned this, they did move me but said that the table was right on the line and so it is non-smoking.
In the main lobby area, they have seats for non-smokers right next door to the smoking area for the open restuarant, so if you sit in these lounge chairs, you will have smokers right next to you!! The lounge chairs for smokers pur right on the other side of the main lobby away from the smkoing area of the resturant!
