9/10 for hotel location, 1/10 for hotel policy (MUST READ)
The hotel is nicely located. At the night, the street below transform into a food paradise where it is vital to me as I am travelling with old folks and the last thing I want is to walk a far distance away for our meals. Hence, the location of this hotel scored a "9/10" from me.
However, the hotel policy - "No outside food allowed" is a huge disappointment and unacceptable. In my life of travelling and various hotels that I stayed (including 5 stars), this is the first time I was being stopped to bring food into my hotel room.
What's the point of promoting your hotel is near to food paradise, but not allowing guests to bring food into the rooms? And, not to mention that food served by the hotel cafe is not up to standard at all (my rooms come with free buffet breakfast - it is horrible).
Another huge disappointment is the lack of safebox in the room. With the price I paid for and for a 4 stars hotel, I thought a safe deposit is a minimum criteria? Another minus point. Otherwise, room is clean & spacious, except one of the room's shower head & toilet flush are faulty.
This hotel is ideally located. I would love to stay in this hotel. But unless the management take away "no food" policy, I will not even consider.
A big compliment to accomodating and helpful front desk staffs though. Friendly and helpful.
