Not a four star hotel.
Over-rated as a Four Star. Rooms are comfortable but a little run down. Bath accessories lacking of most basic items like tooth brush, cotton buds, etc. Reception upon check- in is pleasant and courteous enough. However, upon checkout there was a double charging for breakfast. But they managed to resolve quite fast.
Choices for breakfast was good but could improve. Waiters needed to be told to clear dirty plates. Choices for dining is limited also.
Not quite a fun place if you have young children for holiday. Lack of family activities to enjoy. There are pool and ping pong tables but these are more for older children.
Money for value, not really. I would reconsider twice.

Room charges is on the high side. Breakfast quality is not quite up to standard.
Overall room and exterior conditions are much improved after renovation. Will come again if the price is cheaper by some margins.

Food below satisfaction..
upon arrival checking in went smoothly until the issuing of b/fast coupon...booked a package through asiarooms for 2 night stay at standard rm with b/fast for 2 adults & 2 child but was being told by the reception that child b/fast was not included..after showing the copy that stated everything then only she consulted the mgr , i was told that actually child b/fast was not included although stated in the package but after reasoning out with them then they decided to give it as compliment..checkin into our rm and it was spacious 1 king & 1 super single with gd pool & sea view. Nt morning b/fast time and not much variety..standard nasi lemak dish, fried kway teow, ckn sausage, potato,baked bean, steam pau and porridge...over to pastry just 2 types of bread, croissant & danish with condiments..not forgetting fruit and 1 bowl of salad..hope the nt day b/fast to be better but same only some changes..very disappointed..pulai spring golf & resort is much more better than pulai desaru and it's not that far either and u can find more food along the way...gd point only the scenary and rms...pool pulai spring is 5x better
Very Nice experience
Our stay at Pulai Desaru Resort was very pleasant. The hotel was very clean. The staff was very courteous. They took special care in serving us veg food on our request. Even helped us courteously extend our stay for one more day. The swimming pool, spa was very clean. There were many activities for children as well. The beach is very much there at your doorsteps and very nice. My little one enjoyed the stay a lot and so does we.Strongly recommended for everybody.

Room is spacious and clean. Suitable for family with young children on retreat.
No Internet access, which was surprising.
Access card to room needed to be reactivated daily, which was annoying.
On the whole it was a pleasant experience, with friendly staff.

Wonderful stay
My husband & I rode a motorcycle to the resort. Naturally, security is very important to us. The resort made our stay clear of worries and enjoyable as we don't hv to worry if our bike will still be there in the morning. Our room was upgraded without being informed. Very nice, spacious room with sea view! What else can we ask for especially after the long ride.. Thank you.

My family with 2 children under 2 checked in the resort for a 3 days 2nights stay. Thumbs up for the spacious room which can comfortably house a king size and super single bed. The pool is big and child friendly too. My toddler also enjoyed the children room on the ground floor which has indoor-playground and TV entertainment. Although the hotel seems to undergo a re-furnishment, it appeared more so for the lobby. Although the room is neat, the bathroom lacked aesthetic appearance. The tap was leaky and bathtub was dirty. The air-con was working well, if one did not mind the loud noise from the air-con. The stay was satisfactory considering for the rates. I do not mind to revisit or recommend to my friends.

The room was really good large and with a balcony. We enjoyed the stay very much.
The only thing the management really need to address is the very long time it takes to check in and check out. This can spoil the stay. It just takes too long.
Apart from that we would recommend it to anyone.
