Hotel receptions are great and very helpful....
Hotel receptions are great and very helpful. We got the room change for overlooking the South China sea per request. The value will go well if booking the regency club room. The gym is very nice with steam room and jacuzzi. Only downsize of this hotel is the noise from the street.

A nice hotel, in a reasonable location, nice sea views and just out of town.Road noise in the room and by the pool irritating.Staff and service good.

Nice hotel, little tired and in need...
Nice hotel, little tired and in need of renovation but perfectly acceptable. Location not good for the beach so very business orientated. Pool was a nice area, gym was very good. Food good value for money. Would probably stay by the beach if i returned though.

First time to Hyatt Regency Kota Kinabalu...
First time to Hyatt Regency Kota Kinabalu and would stay here again as central to town and right on the Bay with lovely views.The Breakfast Buffet was fantastic with a huge selection of goodies for all tastes and the service is also great and friendly staff. Room are huge and very English style furniture and reminds me of the Marroitt in Brisbane Qld. Bath tub and separate shower and huge balcony where we stayed on 14th floor. Excellent service, location, staff and beautiful art...
Excellent service, location, staff and beautiful art deco lobby and restaurant. Nonetheless, the hotel is very old (can see it everywhere in the rooms, corridors,paintings, fixtures and furnitures), the carpets are shockingly stained. This hotel definitely needs to be renovated.

The hotel is in a great location,...
The hotel is in a great location, right on the water and close to all the shopping centres, tour and dive shops. The rooms are definately due for and overhaul, preferably with soundproof glass to block out the nightclubs below. The staff were the best I encountered in my travels, couldn't do enough to help me. I hope the refurb due in 2008 will reflect the type of establishment the staff deserve to work in with their customer service skills.

highly recommended. clean good sized room and bathroom (serviced twice a day !), fantastic breakfast selection, and good service. location is ok - on the far end of town, however the town isn't too big. KFC & pubs across the road, 15min walk to great outdoor seafood restuarants and shopping malls, 10min walk to ferry terminal for Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park.

We only stayed one night so didn't experience the full hotel but the service we got was excellent and we were upgraded from a basic room which was really good. There appeared to be everything you would expect and the location was right near the centre and close to the airport. Prices were on the expensive side for malaysia but in-line with other similar hotels in the area. Overall would go back.

We stayed for 4 nights in this...
We stayed for 4 nights in this hotel and upgraded to the Regency Club rooms which made this hotel one of the best that I have ever stayed at. The upgrade was not expensive and added the finishing touches to this hotel. It is extremely difficult to fault this hotel or its staff in any way. Everything was better than our expectations and the staff could not do enough for us. I think that the comments above says everthing about this hotel and would certainly recommend it to anybody looking to stay in KK. Many thanks to the staff of the Hyatt Regency, KK.
