Convenient and well worth it!
I stayed in a Deluxe room which had a king sized bed and large flat screen tv. The room was large and spacious. The hotel is old but very beautifully renovated. The room offered modern facilities which was well maintained. The bed was neatly tidied. The only downfall was that I noticed both pillow case and doona covers were torn, but it wasn't anything to worry about. The room offered Internet connection but that is kind of useless when you are travelling with an iPad that needs wifi connection. The hotel offered wifi connection but only down in the lobby. The rooms didn't have access to wifi services but I was told that the service was being installed and will be available in the future. The staff were all friendly and very accommodating, they even recommended places to eat outside of the hotel for local cuisine such as hainanese chicken rice. The location of the hotel is excellent. Directly next door is a shopping mall called wisma Medeka. A short walk away (1 block) is kk plaza. 3 blocks away is kk's new Suria kk. The hotel also offered free parking facilities to hotel guests which is monitored and guarded by security 24 hours a day. All you need to do is get your parking ticket stamped at lobby if you are a guest and you can get free parking for the duration of your stay. Across the road, for those who are used to a midnight snack, there is burger king (hungry jacks) and a 24 hour KFC. There is also a bar/cafe called upperstar that opens till late at night and a convenient store/deli (7/11) for those who need anything else. Overall I am a very happy guest who will for sure return to the same hotel on my next visit. Thank you for your hospitality.
Stay at Hyatt
Our stay at Hyatt was a pleasnt one. The location where the Hyatt was situated gaves us easy access to the shopping malls, eateries and the night life in Sabah. Hotels staff from the door men to the cleaning staff were pleasant with their friendly smile.
However, we were quizz for receiving daily newspaper on the first day of stay. It is quite standard to receive daily papers at most 4 stars hotels.
To sum up we had an enjoyable stay.

Facilities
Everything was satisfactory except for the swimming pool which was still under renovation. When we first booked the hotel in September 2010 it was clearly stated that the renovation of Hotel would take place in October and November but to our suprised that the swimming pool was not ready yet. However, we were greatful that the hotel arranged for us an alternative swimming pool by providing us a free transport to the neighbouring hotel for swimming. But it is still affect our conveniency and schedule as tourists.

The hotel was undergoing some renovation and we stayed in a room that was obviously not yet renovated because some fixtures need to be upgraded. The location is perfect because it's at the heart of the city and beside a big mall.

Hotel services on overall was great. We arrived early in the morning and we were told that our rooms were not ready. However, the hotel was kind enough to provide us with another temporary room while waiting. Do request for a sea view room as you'll get to catch the beautiful sunset in the evening.

In summary, this is a relatively nice hotel however it is a poor value and I probably would stay at a different hotel if in the area again.
Pros: great location for shopping and entertainment, nice seaview, good buffet breakfast
Cons: rooms expensive for what you get, hallway carpet in bad shape, small rooms, worn out mattresses
