Confusing Check-In Process
I booked an apartment for our family of 5 assuming that it would be under the management of 1Borneo itself. Be warned that this is actually a private landlord leasing the apartment to you. Arriving at 1Borneo and trying to find the check-in point is confusing - we had to drive around for a bit to find Tower B itself which is where the apartment is located. Check-in is noted at 2pm, but as we assumed it operated as hotels normally do we thought that arriving anytime AFTER 2pm would be acceptable. We arrived at 3.30pm as traffic was insane coming into KK. Once we finally found the lobby to Tower B we attempted to check-in at reception but they all began to point us to different directions as no one seemed to know who it was we had to check-in with.
Our contact finally arrived and we were able to check-in - she had left because she said that we were supposed to check-in AT 2pm, which I find a bit silly considering that one can't gauge the exact time of arrival especially with the heavy traffic we encountered.... the other frustrating thing was the lack of knowledge and willingness to help by the staff at Tower B.
The apartment itself was fine, however the hallways in the building felt a little bit caged in and run down. In terms of value for money, it was pretty good for one family, but be aware that 1Borneo is about a 30 to 40 minute drive to the centre of town (depending on traffic).
Finally, there was a consistent smell of sewerage as you drove up to the parking lot which really put a downer on our trip!

Overall, the stay was pleasant. It was certainly worth it. However, there are rooms for improvements such as the air conditioner in our master bedroom was leaking water and the toilet flush in the same room was broken.
The management system is a bit odd though. The unit appeared to be owned by someone and managed by an agent. Therefore, some amenities that are not be available in your unit can be obtained from another unit such as ironing kit, DVD player, hair dryer. There is no washing machine though.
I would recommend this to people who just need a place to stay and hang out. Not for the fussy ones who are into cheap and fancy deals.

Overall, it is a good place to stay.It is convenient to shop at 1B.However, they should have a counter at the lobby so easier to leave the card or key.
there is no indication that checking in is by calling the person in charge. have no idea where to check in. the lobby is filled with unfriendly people.
5nites Sabah F&E
Very convenient. Food, entertainment, fashions, supermarket, etc, are all under one-roof. There's also free shuttle to downtown. The swimming pool is great.
However, the rooms lack basic facilities for 6 persons. Hooks should be fixed in the bathrooms. Also, 4 hangers in each room is not sufficient.
The two beds in both rooms are covered with white clean linens, but under the bed is quite dusty. (found out when I have to pick my stuff that roll under)

Improvements on facility and service could be
1.change the pillows....they were too too soft
2.have mirrors in the toilets
3.daily clean up of trash as well as floor, as it was dusty due to renovation work in progress just outside the unit
4.daily change of towels
5.more tv channels available
6.in-house contact as we cannot call on anyone immediate if they happen to be any problem.
Overall our stay was good value for money but it could have been a pleasantly memorable experience if there were no renovations and constructions surrounding us.
We will definitely consider to come again and recommend to friends in future if we are sure that dusty and noisy external construction works have been completed.
